[No Longer Available] Tombstone Director's Cut HD + SD Upscaled (Quick Project)

I was just digging into this a little and trying to run a few tests.

It appears that the LD has EE/halos, the first DVD has EE, the Vista DVD has EE and the BD has EE. The Vista DVD has some of most EE I have ever seen:

I'm able to remove a lot of the EE but can't get rid of it all without further damaging the picture:

Color correction and graining help hide some of what remains but there will always be some there sadly. Even the BD has problems like the previously mentioned EE (not nearly as bad as the Vista or LD) and the fact it seems like a dark transfer, which I brighten a little.

I am getting closer matching the Vista DVD DC footage with the BD

so that the DC insert scenes don't stand out as much. But there are limits and it will always look like upscaled footage.

I do now have the PCM from the LD, so that's nice.

Thanks applesandrice. Very nice of you to say. Sadly, THX certification usually meant a ton of sharpen was applied. The certification quickly became a joke even in the laserdisc days.

Ive never seen it, and I don't think its included on any of the DVD releases as a deleted scene in the supplementary material even.

oooooh, now this does have my interest, one of my all time faves, I have the GBR BD and the GBR DVD D.C. I hope it appears on a site I use.

Well this is done for all intents and purposes. Although I'm not completely satisfied with the upscaling, it's about the best anyone can muster out of that terrible DVD. It looked bad in the beginning and now looks a little less bad.

The PCM track is loud and mean without me making any modifications to it. I recommend giving that a listen to.

I also included the extras from the laserdisc in it's own separate file. Only the one Jason Priestly scene in the extras is unique, the rest of the material is in the DC DVD and in this project.

It's uploading now. Participating members (aka no newbies) can PM me if they want a copy. I'll keep it posted for a week or two.
