I find it interesting how the DVD shows more on the sides. I don't get why they didn't simply open the image up to the bottom and top.

I remember paying 60 bucks for that criterion dvd when it was new. wasn't too happy with it when I got a 16x9 tv.

Damn, thanks for that comparison with the 35mm. Unsurprisingly, the 35mm just looks marvelous.

I watched the Image fullscreen laserdisc last night and it is considerably bluer than the Criterion laserdisc.
