Are you referring to the HDR WEBRip?

One of the rare releases where BluRay (SDR) looks better than the 4K HDR counterpart (in this case, that specified webrip)
Criterion can rarely do wrong, from all accounts.

An exception to this would be the "Le Cercle Rouge" (Alain Delon movie) - where the debate is still ongoing as far as I've read, between the Criterion BR and Studio Canal's 4K release.

Did you ever get anywhere with this Beber?

I did the whole movie a while back but was never satisfied with the result. Since then I learned new tricks, such as using Dr Dre's color-matching tool (playing with "True Lies" and "Mission Impossible" UHD to match it to BD), but never got back to it. I haven't deleted the project, it's been on hold until I'm motivated to try again.

I´ve to say i´m ecited to the the upcoming UHD version from Kino Lorber. It seems it´s the same scan but obviously not a remaster (like the criterion. but still have itSmile) but rather 4k with hdr and/or dolby vision.

Hopefully the new version ‘warms up’ the colours compared to the Criterion which looked too cool. Beber’s regrade thread gives a good idea of what to hope for.

Sadly, the colors are still looking very cool and even desaturated on DVDBeaver's caps.
Hopefully it's just a tone mapping issue with the capturing software and it will look warmer in person.
