SpoRv, have you considered correcting the blown-out whites in the same way PDB does it on Die Hard 3, using the luma (or 50% of it) of the WEB-DL in your case?

Indeed, the last comparison take this in account; if I'd use the same contrast found in the film, there would be many black crush instances; I'm aware that with the current setting, there are some blown white, but they are few and never distracting in motion; all in all, as I wrote before, it reminds me a lot a real film print!
Now, when I'll find out a German track, I would restart to work on this.

All right. In the meantime, my work on the French subs is in progress. I've done 2/3 to 3/4 of it.

UPDATE
Thanks to our alien friend with claws now I have not only a "simple" German DTS 5.1, but also the 6.1 version!!! I guess I'll be forced to release it ASAP! EDIT: added a Vimeo embedded clip in the first post.

Is the Vimeo clip representative of the final grade? If so I find it very dark and needs to come up some way. The blacks are way too much. When Arnie comes out the water you can barely make his face out.
Thanks given by: Beber

We talked about it in another True Lies thread; as the regrade aim to be as much closer as possible to film - meaning, film print projected in a theater - yes, this would be the final grade... but keep in mind that film is way darker - really!

I don't find it too dark, Arnie's face is clearly recognizable, albeit dark.

In my book, the whole Switzerland opening scene cannot be that dark, especially inside the manor, the cocktail party, the ballroom where they tango. The outside in the snow, fine. It's night, it helps the stealth intrusion in the property, that's all right. Nevertheless, the revealing shot specifically designed for Arnie to turn his head and face the camera for audience purposes, I can't believe it's so dark by Cameron's design. I know that film is darker than video, for sure, but that's extreme. This is True Lies, not a fantasy/horror movie like The Fog, which is very much darker on 35mm than the Blu-ray, by the way.
