I know there is a supposedly an uncut Australian VHS. A friend actually has this and the tape snapped when he was capturing it! Last I heard he was trying to track down another copy.

VHS tapes can be spliced back together, I'm pretty certain I fixed one in the VHS years that the family deck chewed up

Did this project come to fruition?
The UK BD of Kickboxer looks pretty good (it's the same master as the US release but without the DNR) but only has a 5.1 track. I'd like to sync the OG 2.0 stereo to it, even better if it has the original voices.

It rough and far from finished, with audio drop outs and visual jump cuts (in the middle of shots at times) with no correction ect. I've just had no time to work on projects beyond more simple automated avisynth scripts ect for years. It would not sync up with the US cut without some work, as that cut has been trimmed somewhat.

Unfortunately both Kickboxer and AWOL/Lionheart suffered the same fate in the US.
A botched attempt at a re-edit was done for AWOL in Germany, but that introduced editing errors and horrific DNR. Do you have a copy of the standard R-rated cut stereo which as I recall was on the HBO and Lionsgate DVDs? |
