Ive heard of a few complaints about micro-blocking on UHD disc's!
Is this a problem of the HEVC codec or just the ones coming from particular distributors like Studio Canal?

I think it’s more an issue with the distributor, don’t think SC have ever been great with compression. To be fair I watched the UHD of They Live on a 55inch tv the other week and couldn’t spot anything like that, often these things look worse in caps.

I watched my StudioCanal BD of They Live once and thought it looked good, didn't spot any macroblocking in it (though I may have missed it). It seems their UHD compression is worse than the BD in general for now.

I spotted the blocking but to be fair I happen to be up on my tv at the time. Yes I get close to inspect the quality at times. Haha Regardless, it should not have any blocking on a new 4K remaster. That's ridiculous. I also forget the time but that part it was rather noticeable.
