The track to my old UK VHS of Part II has a some real life behind it (just tested). It's really lively.
Like 99% of UHD releases of classic 80s movies, this new release sound like shit in comparison. Just tinny and weak. Not a fan.

I have the LD only of First Blood. The original 2.0 is thankfully on the German BDs that had better encoding than the US ones but the quality is quite awful sadly.

It's amazing how many times they've released Rambo and still not got it right.
The UHDs are fugly with TEEEEL colours, milky blacks, off framing, borked remixes, and video-generated subs.
Seems like the older UK blu-ray releases have normal colours and blacks, DTS stereo (original hopefully?) and burnt-in subs (although Part 3 has a 2-sec snip for a horsetrip).
Anyone think it's worth ditching my 4Ks and picking up the UK trilogy?

Actually I just checked and the only remastered UK trilogy with the original audio and subs is that silly grenade packaging.
Is there an equivalent anywhere?

Seems as if this Rambo 3 Bd is nothingwhere else released, only in that silly granade. First Blood and Rambo 2 seem to be both identical to the europe StudioCanal releases from that time, but Rambo 3 seems to be unique release in UKs Box. It only has english Audio, no european Dub.

According to Rewind the Scandanavian Ultimate Ed. set has the exact same specs as the UK's "Grenade" set.
Could they be the same?
EDIT: More checking... seems that the Australian trilogy set is the same as the UK Grenade set. And all the rest aren't. Unfortunately it's long OOP.

Do you know when the Australian trilogy was released? I may be able to track it down.

The easiest to get is the German trilogy BD set. I found it ultra cheap and all the transfers are fine. The problem however is that while all three feature original audio it’s very tinny and not very good. I only have the LD of first blood and it sounds incredibly better.
