Regarding the TV cut, what could be cool is rebuild it using the Pan&Scan side of this disc, ie you replace all the shots that are similar, only leaving the different cuts from the TV rip. But it's a lot of work.
Great idea - I don't mind putting the work in.

So I've had a look around and it looks like either of these Australian DVDs have the DTS track and the production notes:

You have them, or you need them? I think I have both... somewhere.. down.. the piles...
Edit: yeah, just found both under a pile of DVDs... (Uhm, why do I have 4 times US/CA Temrinator 2 Extreme Edition DVD sets?)

This disc is going to rock!
How are you going on with the 'Lost Cut'?
I tried a composite, but it was very difficult due to speed, edit and frame rate differences.
It's great that a better version appeared after all these years.

Just checked, both discs seem to be identical pressings, just different labeling. Both have the exact same size.

I'm actually just finishing off The Hidden and then I'll get onto this full speed.
I'm thinking it's going to be a 4 disc set. sPorv's remaster of Part 1, added to it the DTS 2.0 Australian from the Scream Factory disc, the DTS from the above Australian disc and the trivia subtitle track from the US DVD. Part 2 will be a regrade of the blu withthe LD PCM. Part 3 will be PDB's regrade if I can get it. Then the final disc will be all the extras from every single release / youtube etc.
In terms of the lost cut I've now got two versions of it thanks to Stamper and the 4:3 DVD. I've so far adjusted every version so it's 23.976 and synced the LD PCM up to the 4:3 DVD. Next stage is to take the uncut shots from the blu, downscale them to 720p and black off the edges, color grade it to match the DVD and try and get the audio to match - that then will be a fully uncut 4:3 version with LD audio. Then it's a matter of inserting and grading the extra stuff from the lost cut.
So this will eventually be a kitchen sink version as opposed to a recreation of the lost cut.
The big problem I've ran into so far is using Dr Dre to grade the lost cut shots with the DVD, I keep getting a load of artifacts even when aligning the best I can and setting the smoothing parameter to 1 - but I'm sure it's fixable.

Thanks Plissken1138, this is the one I remembered watching before but couldn't find it anywhere. Nice spot!
If it can help, I have a VHSrip of the original french broadcast untouched.
Almost 18 minutes is cut from the version on YouTube, mostly the licensed musics and french naration.
