It has, in my opinion, beautiful cinematography and colors and all that gets lost a little bit in the normal release. And it's just an epic movie imo.
The theatrical was rather bad though. I also don't think it's copying the MCU necessarily, at least I wouldn't say that ... you know what, right as I write this I realize that you may have a point. With all the different characters being thrown in there etc. Gotta reevaluate my opinion a little. However it's something I think would have turned out great if Zack was allowed free reign, where I find MCU seriously boring and - at risk of using an overused term - disneyfied.
Amen brother.
I really like the ultimate cut.
I came out of the Theatrical thinking a) That was an A/V masterpiece in terms of modern technical filmaking and b) so over bloated with winks on whats to come and not enough meat on why I came here.
EDIT: Personally I would of dropped Wonder Women and Doomsday and shifted the Lex playing things behind the scenes to a midway twist found out by Lois using her reporter skills.
The final act would have been them vs Lex in a mech-suit built from Kryptonian tech he had salvaged and engineered from Zods ship.
Post credits would have been the Meta-Humans sting with Bruce Wayne going through the hacked files from Lex Corp.

Just saw your edit there. I've said it earlier, I really really like the Ultimate Cut but if they had structured the movie the way you just described, I think I would have loved it even more, that sounds badass!

Guys, you just have to re watch Trailer 1 of JL to realize that it's entirely different from what we got in cinema.
Every frame of that trailer tells more of the story then the entire theatrical version.
ZSJL is the best thing that could have happened to the DC universe.
I'm so happy, we'll get to see this movie.

Man of Steel and BVS Extended Cut are both, for me, phenomenal films.
I am beyond excited that we are getting to see Snyder get the chance to finish (or, possibly, continue) his film - one that was taken away from him at the worst possible time.
I still can't work out where the negativity comes from - why would people not want this to be released?

I think alot of it has to do with this man
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoff_Johns
Not only do I think he sabotaged the DCEU, to be the new Kevin Feige behind his own production company.
But that the majority of the 'geek' media (especially the bigger You Tube releated channels, Collider cough, cough) pretty much push advertising for these production companies.
Just look at how the 'dangerous precedent' comment has been repeated over the channels.
That's not an opinion, that's a press release.
EDIT: I use the term 'Geek' affectionately as I am one

You are right, CSchmidlapp.
Johns certainly turned out to be, shall we say, an "ambitious" inidividual!
I see he's on the TV wing of the DC world now, with Stargirl.
I'd watch it, but his involvement leaves a nasty taste.
It's been interesting seeing all these media shills on YT turn 180% re: the Snyder Cut!
