You've got to realise that scanning the negatives might have the changes baked into them.
For example, let's say the O neg credits don't have the actual credits. They are another negative that needs to be scanned and recomped digitally. Presto, any dirt in the original credits will be gone.
Now, imagine the O neg have the original plates in some VFX scenes, and that each additional plate shot is separate.
Same thing, you recomp them, and if something is obvious, you erase/adjust it.
All this is baked into the O neg remaster.
