Indiana Jones UHD Collection
The new remaster is not very bad, but it has become even more brown, if the scene is not light, then a lot of details disappear in a brown dark mess, many immediately noticed that if it is not light, then everything is very bad. The Japanese WOWOW has very pleasant colors, the picture is lighter, with a bluish-green tint, of course this is an amateur, but I'm not a fan of brown darkness...

You can't judge the brightness of the UHD from SDR screencaps. It doesn't look anywhere near that dark on my HDR set up. In fact I find the levels much improved over any prior transfer.

The WOWOW is and has always been overrated IMO.

The WOWOW is to me ungraded and over sharpened, but I would rather have that as a base

If it's not difficult, make at least a few screenshots of comparisons with those that I provided a few posts ago, with your best HDR tone settings (only a screenshot with a ship, please do not compare, there is no darkness)

Does anyone know if the 5.1 DD+ audio tracks on the Amazon 4K streams are any good? What are the chances that they are 5.1 mixes based on the 70mm tracks from the DVDs?

Sorry to bump an old thread, I came in looking for the LD 2.0 mixes for the trilogy, but just wanted to say this was a really interesting thread to read through. Is there an exhaustive list of the changes/CGI/recompositing around? Would be intrigued to see more info. And if any kind soul could hook me up with the LD PCMs obviously I'd be theirs forever lol Smile
Currently looking for LD audio (synced or raw) of:
48 Hours | Another 48 Hours | A Few Good Men | Do the Right Thing | Field of Dreams | The Goonies | The Lost Boys | Midnight Run | Pet Sematary | Red Heat | Reservoir Dogs | Star Trek 1 thru 6

I find the removal of the wire pulling the boat... appalling. Instead of "painting it out" they just stretched a portion of sea to cover it. What can I call it, digital laziness? Probably no one will notice it during the film but on the side-by-side comparison it's a big wtf for me.

I preserve movies as they first appeared in Italy.
