[in progress] Zack Snyder's Justice League - Reframed
#11
Hi. These look fantastic. But just my opinion, the shots with Aquaman(3rd and 4th) and the shot with Mera(8th) seems weird, maybe can you try a little bit reframing them, if you want to?

Since that is standard 70mm ratio, which would be conceptually similar to Snyder's "IMAX" reasoning behind the 1.33:1 ratio (despite full IMAX being 1.43:1), as well as allowing slightly more vertical breathing room for the reframing while still retaining the "scope" look of the previous films.

This isn't really a suggestion or anything, just something I was thinking about while looking at your example frames, which look quite good as they are. Though I do find it strange that you're cropping to a ~2.45:1 ratio rather than 2.35:1 or 2.40:1.

I've just changed the whole thing to something more closely to 2.30:1, giving it a little more room to breath.

Not sure what's weird about them and what exactly would you want to be fixed. Also, it should be judged by the look of the whole shot, and not one particular frame. I could change framing in those particular shot, but there will be certainly hundreds of those which may seem weird to somebody, and tryin' to fix everything would be true "neverending story". Especially that it wasn't meant for that AR so there are compromises to be made along the road.

I'm sure there's no way to make everyone 100% happy with that kind of treatment Smile

I just found the framing a bit odd in those screens. That's absolutely correct that the entire scene or shot will get affected if you made a change according to just one screen.

Also, what do you think about having a shifting AR?

To be honest I don't really like shifting AR (I've reframed The Dark Knight Blu-ray to get rid of it), but that depends on how it is used. For example - I couldn't stand that in "Transformers The Last Knight" and didnt like it in "Dark Knight Rises" (too much shifting - one shot in different AR and the next one changes it again), but I could live with it in "Aquaman" or "Wonder Woman 1984" where changes were for whole sequences. One thing is certain though - I'm not doing it here.

Yeah, I know, but I still don't know what that means.

Unfortunately only 5.1 / 448 kbps audio as I personally don't need anything better and my software doesn't necessarily handle more advanced audio formats.
2xBD25 / 2.31:1 / 1080p, English and polish audio and custom menu (different for each disc) included. Martha-manhunter and additional epilogue scenes deleted. Ends just after Supes rips his shirt open.

There were maybe 5-6 places where there was a problem with framing to widescreen and it may look like something is off, but 99,9% of the time it looks quite good imo.
