It's hard to see. It's printed in semi-transparent lettering on the transparent ring in the centre of the disc.

Or just pop the disc in, skip to the gallimimus stampede and turn up your audio system. If your walls start to crack, it's the second release. Wink

I used a macro lense to see the codes. Like I said it's total different one, then one mentioned at the bits.

Thanks Turisu for the extensive comparison! Ok

Sadly I've lost my JP project on the HDD crash, but I found I have the Italian PAL LD with its PCM track untouched... dunno if could be useful in any way - maybe to compare the LFE when extracted by software decoder or, much better, by the Dolby SDU4?

Also I must bring the attention on the famous WOWOW broadcasting; recorded not earlier than 2010, it has a DTS 24bit full bitrate track; AFAIK it could not be from BD, so where it come from? Pretty sure not from WOWOW, so may it be from Cinema DTS, or simply a re-encoding from any AC-3 track?

If any one is needed, drop me a PM

I guess the best way to be sure then would be to rip the audio and take a look at the LFE channel in a waveform editor.

I'd be willing to bet that it's just the 5.1 DTS core from the BD DTS-MA 7.1 track. But I'd be interested to check it out if you have it.

It can't be, unless the DTS-MA 7.1 came on 2010 or before...

But isn't the WOWOW broadcast the same video master as the BD?

Frankly I don't know - in the case, BD used the same master of WOWOW because the latter came out earlier... Smile

Just checked: WOWOW DTS track is from Laserdisc DTS - mystery solved! Maybe you can add this info to the first post.

That's interesting. Are we certain that it was broadcast with this audio track and it hasn't just been muxed with the WOWOW video stream? It seems unusual to me that a TV station would broadcast a movie with a DTS track when not everybody tuning in would have the equipment to decode such a stream.

Wait, wait... the WOWOW recording that circulated had for sure WOWOW video, but then it was muxed with that DTS track; I had the chance to got original unaltered WOWOW recordings few years ago (Star Wars OT + EP VII) and they have AAC tracks; pretty sure ten and more years ago it was (still) not the case - most probably audio tracks were AC-3 or even MP2; but I never heard about any broadcaster that use DTS!

Side note: there is the Kaleidescape version that uses DTS as well; dunno which version it is, though!
