Why don't you try the out the 1996 [Full Screen] VHS Audio Mix (the only pre-2024 video version to retain the Theatrical Audio [as long as you hear a bling cue, as Bud on the Ledge (Album Take) starts], I'm aware off) since WEB-DL [Cinemax?] is mentioned?

For context: Version A audio, uninterrupted and correct 5-min

Regarding The Abyss, I noticed this release from Japan in AC3, [PILF-2375] seems to have a mono mix!

That would be funny, akin I guess to the T2 mono mix that was on some of the SE Laserdiscs.

Just like any other AC-3 LDs, they have a Mono mix on Analog Left (do you believe it is a downmix of the multi-track?

I'm not sure if they are downmixes, I listened again a few years back to the T2 mono track, and I downmixed the same LD (JP Squeeze LD) AC3 using VLC to mono, and they sounded different if I remember correctly.
I have The Abyss AC3 LD from Japan, but I never gave it a listen.
Maybe it could be cool if I buy another one, and send it direct to one fellow member that have ripping abilities free of charge
