I still think True Lies should be have more blue than the web-dls do. In terms of color, the laserdiscs are much closer to the 35mm copy that's online. That copy actually looks pretty decent after you tweak the contrast/gamma a bit. Nothings going to touch those web-dls in terms of PQ though so they are still probably the best way to go.

Thanks. I don't know how I feel about the colors, which look identical to color-blind-me, or that it is open matte.

Interesting the Disney+ audio track is 256kbps EAC3, and the Russian release is a 640kbps DD. Spectrum analysis shows the latter to be significantly better.
I'm not sure what sources they are using.

I realize I don't know for sure what is the best existing version of this.
Is it considered to be the Disney Plus?

I'm noticing the Russian one is a different master since the run time differs and not because of bitrate.

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to remux the Disney with better audio tracks or... I don't know.

The Disney still seems to be from the AI upscale master, but the Russian has film grain, but softer detail and looks more natural. If anyone wants a copy of it so they can adjust the colors, let me know.

The best True Lies source is split for me honestly. For starters thought the Disney+ WEB-DL is not the AI master. It is a version of the 4K scan without any post-processing and IMO I prefer it to the D-Theater master which is the one available on ancient WEB-DLs and that Spain Bootleg Blu-Ray (which in-fact own lol). The big divide for me personally is highlight detail, the D-Theater master has significantly better highlight detail than the Disney+ WEB which has some fairly clipped highlights in spots. Watching the movie I never really had an issues with the clipped highlights but it all comes down to what you prefer honestly. It's either an ancient MPEG-2 encoded 2000s HD transfer with better highlight detail or a modern 4K transfer that is better encoded with highlight clipping.
