Thanks for investigating SpaceBlackKnight, you really didn't have to go to such trouble

The Amazon-sourced open matte web-dl that I've seen online is definitely the teal version so just wanna make sure.

The main version to rent/buy on Amazon Video is the old HD master in OAR. iTunes Japan and Microsoft Store US are the BD master in OAR. Judging by the preview on a Korean VOD place (Naver), they had an OM version of the DVD master. For those who have Spectrum in certain areas in the US (I don't), I'm hearing that the version to rent on Spectrum On-Demand is also the DVD master in 1.78 in case the Korean storefronts are too difficult to get into.
Some good info on the last post of the blu-ray.com thread on the work and processes they went through to get the look they wanted and what was seen in theaters. The DVD mastering is definitely not what was intended but I'm still gonna snag a copy:

ENR doesn't look like the teal mess of the BD and the warning at the front of the dvd would tell anyone that.
We need to stop posting BD.com links as proof of anything (2023-03-27, 10:19 AM)dvdmike Wrote: ENR doesn't look like the teal mess of the BD and the warning at the front of the dvd would tell anyone that. i posted it because it was obviously quotes from someone who was very close to production...since they are now deleted, can't know for certain, but i'd love to see any references/sources you have for how the movie should look. i've only ever seen this on VHS/DVD and didn't think the color ever looked that distorted, at least not like they talk about how much effort they put into it. i'm also surprised that, if the blu-ray isn't as intended, there hasn't been much talk of it at all. didn't see anything posted here before this thread. edit: found one thread discussing it on avsforum and it does sound like the dvd mastering is closer to what it was like in the theaters but still odd there hasn't been more discussion over it since it's a fairly large change: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/three-k...498/page-3

I don't know who the b****y forum poster is but the info they've posted was all on the DVD, so not new information.
I had the region 1 DVD when it was first released but never saw it theatrically, but did see a trailer and the colour was exhilarating. Admittedly the DVD doesn't hit those giddy heights but that master is a better starting place for a project than the blu will ever be. I get mad just thinking about the blu ray |
