Looks pretty good! I may end up buying the BD to see this!
The Sword in the Stone (1963) - 1080p Open-Matte BD

That looks great!
I hadn't realised that the old itunes copy wasn't so grainy, but it looked much better than the Bluray of course. I will add my voice to those who say to crop it. I still don't understand what is the resulting image though. Is it 3 different copies superimposed on one another for the complete image, or this is only in the area of the logo? Isn't it true that these preservations have to be shared among legal owners of the officially available releases? ...come to think of it, will the DVDs suffice then?

Yeah, the old itunes transfer was a step up from the DVD release and amazingly is also better than the atrocious BD release but it was still a rather soft, grainless transfer.
EDIT: WE DO NOT SUPPORT PIRACY, therefore, YES, you should own the BD in order to obtain this release once it's finished. However, in this case, there is a little bit of a "gray" area, as this is technically the same image as the old itunes transfer AND any of the DVD releases, just in better quality so... In any case, this project is NOT for my profit or anyone else's profit either and should only be shared with people that own a commercial release! Process for resulting image: first, the two HDTV caps are superimposed over each other (excluding the logo, of course) where there was a small portion of the logo still remaining (due to overlap, which I demonstrated in post#1) Then that got ran through an avisynth delogo-ing script. This got rid of most of remaining logo but left behind some artifacts. Those got hidden and removed by way of superimposing the itunes transfer (after it got aligned spatially to the hdtv cap, was slightly processed, and got manually regrained by use of real 35mm film grain plate) over it, hence the "extra" image on sides from the HDTV footage and the "extra" image on top and bottom from the itunes footage. My computer is having a problem encoding the cropped version directly into BD complaint AVC due to abnormal settings I got for this crop (where it doesn't divide by 16) so I am having to encode it into another lossless intermediary file that is nearly done (another 4 hours) Once this is done, I will be able to encode the BD complaint AVC for the cropped version. It looks fantastic, like a proper, official release. I still prefer the uncropped version, but this will look like a commercial release in terms of quality. Then I have to sync all the audio tracks that I have and collect up on subtitles (not sure what I already have and what needs to be found ) and make sure those are in sync too. Once that's done, I want to release this. I still plan on doing the nice BD release, as a part of my "Shadoe Presents: The Vintage Disney Channel Throwback Collection" but I am thinking of, possibly, also just doing an mkv release of the feature film only. Thoughts? Forgot to mention that for the BD cover, I already have an idea of what I wanna use. It's an image (from a large set of pictures that are of higher resolution than this sample image here) while I was looking for various old posters, newspaper clipping and others for this project way before I started on the project itself, LOL. I wanted the cover to be unique and easy to identify compared to any of the official releases and once I reframe it to proper size from the "master" images I have, I think this will work nicely: [Image: 4yryQDH.jpg] Any comments/ thoughts welcome

Those Disney mondo posters are magnificent!
Do you have others in large size too? Or this is upscaled from a smaller image?

So your talking about doing BDs with menus for your projects? If you do just an mkv for this release, that's fine with me. I'm not much a of a menu guy, always prefer a stand alone file for pressing play, but you know this already.
Great poster, obliviously someone's a big fan of the movie to make that art. Film Addict

I would have to look. I know I have some other ones as well, but not sure which ones. The original size is larger than the image posted, which is a DOWNSCALE and not an upscale of a smaller image. The original dimensions are ~1600x ~2100 and the image posted is only ~1000x ~1300, plus I have individual parts of this particular image that have a size of ~ 1500x ~2000 which means that if I recomposed the image from all the "zoomed in" original images, I could make a poster of actual size ~2400x ~3150
Are there any particular ones that you are looking for? [although google is your friend] Edit: @ DoomBot - Yes, I'm talking about making a nice BD release with a menu and everything PLUS a stand-alone mkv release (which would be first, of course) as the version with menu would include numerous extra's that would fall in line with the "vintage disney channel" theme for that collection. [although google is your friend]Well, of course I searched in google but I couldn't find them in large size as yours. (although i did find now SITS) If you have Beauty and the Beast, I'd be really interested. I only have found this in large size, which as you can see is an upscale: http://www.blastr.com/sites/blastr/files...k=AS1lIkCl

well, this one doesn't have the title in english but is a beautiful, high-res picture and a very nice high-res zoom-in on the main "subject" as can be seen here:
[Image: DSC03314.jpg] [Image: DSC03324.jpg] the only one in english i found, also contains the other one and is at slight angle but is still better than what you found and could be perspective adjusted easily: [Image: BATB.jpg] so I took that last one and did the perspective correction to it and slightly processed it and got an image witha size of 1281x1796... it's not perfect, but it's decent and compliment the very nice, other high res image I posted above [Image: 7LjPtov.png]

The first is the grey version, and the second has the reflection of the surroundings. I needed one to print. That's Ok. |
