Terminator 2: Judgement Day - 35th Anniversary Re-Release
#51
Is that 4K 35mm scan this one: Terminator.2.Judgment.Day.1991.2160p.35mm.PQ10.FLAC.2.0.x265.mkv?
I know of these ones, too :
- Terminator II (1991) 35mm.iso (Rob's Nostalgia Project probably in 1080p)
- Terminator 2 - Judgment Day (1991) 35mm (Optical Stereo) (1080p)
- Terminator.2.Judgment.Day.1991.1080p.35mm.FLAC.2.0.x264
Has there been another one more recently?

There was a special feature on the LD Box, probably also on the DVDs too (can't remember), on the color changes they did with the release of the Special Edition and any subsequent release used these colors afaik.

The closest scan to my own experience of a 35mm screening in an actual theater is the 2160p in HDRish I mentionned above, with the yellow fire and explosions, with the cyan and purple cohabitating in night scenes. The other 35mm scans I've seen are too orange in their fires and explosions. And as I've always said, I have engraved in my mind the shot in the steel factory when John and injured Sarah climb a ladder: when they arrive on top, my experience showed a very yellow warmth up there and virtually no orange at all or barely. The other 35mm scans and video transfers show a lot of orange there. That's why I had started a regrading project about 5 years ago using the 2160p scan as reference, 'cause it matches my 35mm experience best. I'll have to resume work on that project at some point.

It might be? I know for a fact it's the 79.31gb one on Rutracker and that's one I synced all my audio to. I don't think it's grade is the most 100% accurate but it's a decent looking approximation.

It also has the bonus of having additional clean up.

I don’t think I have that one. That screenshot seems quite dark, though. I don’t think that’s right. It's too greenish and lacks contrast.

This one is more in line with what it should be on that shot: https://i.postimg.cc/qkB0fyMM/Terminator...10-710.jpg

There is another 35mm scan going round, labelled as the super 35mm scan but its not a super 35mm open matte scan at all, it does have some better flesh hues in the bar knife scene, better than the WB optical one, i think but not as sharp as that scan https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZRoNib_...VfKMT/view

From the NFO - This is a scan from a Terminator 2 Super 35 print with Cinema Digital Sound (CDS), sourced from the UK. It was shown in only about 14 U.S. theaters, making it significantly rarer than the 70mm release. While 70mm color references survive on isolated frames, few—if any—complete presentations match the visual characteristics of this Super 35 edition.

Interesting. Now I need to locate that one as it could be an even better source for my regrade in progress. It's a different look to the Russian source I have in 2160p, too, that was quite good already.

Interesting. I don't suppose it has the CDS track from the print decoded by any chance?

I know what scan this is, It is not. I don't think it's even possible to decode CDS like 35mm Dolby Digital.

You would have to line out it over analogue and capture each channel as there is no software to decide it as far as I am aware
