Grease LD PCM preservation
It was pretty weak, especially compared to the VHS Hi Fi. And no CX noise reduction. The video master dates back to 1981.

Oh why can't we have a correct speed digital track on par with the VHS Hi-Fi =(

Sent a message to an LDDB seller who supposedly has the digital sound version, asking if they can verify the disc really has it. Cross your fingers and your toes. Wink

Cool, this seller, are they selling it or do they just have it listed in their collection?

They have it for sale.

JEDIT:Just got a reply. They're on vacation until the 20th, and will check when they get back.

They finally got back to me. Said it was analog. I don't think a U.S. digital sound remaster actually exists. Sad

I think info about the digital remaster dates back to the old laserdisc section of IMDB, and possibly further back to Usenet. It could have just been erroneous information that was repeated over and over and never researched further.

Garbage in/garbage out, as they say.

I got a couple leads on PILF-1984! I could kick myself for not doing a bloody simple google search for it before.

Are they the right one?

Afraid not. Sad

Came up dry with dadons. (Out of stock) Good squid seems to be our only option. Never bought anything from them before, but LDDB forum members have nothing but nice things to say about them. Don't if shipping counts towards the $25 minimum order, so I might have to buy something else from them. Unless somebody else here wants to take the plunge?
