I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I want to go slow for now. My Pioneer D704 is the only player I have with digital output, and it's starting to show signs of slipping it's gears again. (I've had two expensive repair jobs on it already.) I keep the wear and tear down by disabling the side change.
My old top loading player is perfect for capturing analog LD soundtracks, especially from discs with mild rot issues. (More modern players fall short in the analog dept.) And I capture from that right into my DVD recorder as PCM audio.
