Say, there's a scan of Star Trek III on Spleen right now... I wonder if whoever made it is planning on scanning a TWOK print too?

Wonder if anyone will correct the PAL speed up for this as that would be awesome.
Either way, it's cool that they let you post this, as it is a rather old capture at this point and deserves to be preserved... Wonder if the new release will be botched and this will still be needed...

A cautiously positive review of the new Blu:
http://trekcore.com/blog/2016/06/review-...ut-bluray/ Not sure what to make of those screenshots - my copy is on its way so I'll be keen to judge for myself (along with making sure it receives the proper Dolby track, of course!)

When the 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Box Set comes out, can someone let me know if it has the new BD for TWOK?

I'm sure you'll be able to read about it right before release Frank. I doubt they'll just spring it on folks, especially Star Trek fans, as they are well known for their immediate response to being treated crappy by Paramount.

So now that the new BD is out, what is everyone's opinion on it?
Looks pretty good to me.

Now that the Sulu error has been corrected, I'm most pleased with the new BD. I've seen a number of prints over the years, and this is the first time that I've been happy with the color-timing. And I don't think it's too dark either: it's just not been brightened for home video. If you've not purchased the disc, I'd recommend it.

I bought it and I'm very pleased with it. Don't get me wrong, I love the SKY-HD release too, but as Bluray goes, this one IS a owner/keeper. |
