  Reservoir Dogs Coming To 4K
Posted by: Endocryne - 2022-09-23, 05:34 PM - Forum: Official and unofficial releases - Replies (7)

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Quentin Tarantino's cult film Reservoir Dogs (1992) with a brand new 4K Blu-ray release, which will be available for purchase on November 15th.

Description: Frenzied, soaked in blood, and featuring gangsters both ruthless and engaging (who debate the deeper meanings of "Like a Virgin"), Reservoir Dogs — Quentin Tarantino's debut film about a heist gone horribly wrong — attained iconic cult status upon its release in 1992, and launched the career of a director whose singular vision has influenced a generation of filmmakers. To celebrate the movie's 30th anniversary, the cocked-and-loaded world of Mr. White (Harvey Keitel), Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), and their '90s-cool cohorts makes its swaggering return on razor-sharp 4K Blu-ray.

Special Features and Technical Specs:
NEW 4K RESTORATION OF THE FILM
HDR AND DOLBY VISION PRESENTATION OF THE FILM
Deleted Scenes
"Playing it Fast and Loose" Featurette
"Profiling Res Dogs" Featurette
Audio: English 5.1 (Dolby TrueHD), Spanish 2.0 (Dolby Digital)
Subtitles: Optional English, English SDH, and Spanish subtitles for the main feature
No Tarantino Involvement this time

Trying to sync Little Mermaid Limited Edition DVD 5.1 to 4K
Posted by: Warm Gun - 2022-09-13, 06:23 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - Replies (14)

I have the Limited Edition DVD whose 5.1 supposedly is based on the 70 mm theatrical audio. Reaper treats it as stereo, leaving the center channel for example silent. I can hear Ariel's echo as she sings, but not her voice. The guides I'm watching appear to be about creating your own 5.1 audio.

I followed one guide up to this point, parent channels 6, track channels 6, but don't hear anything now. The program seems to work natively in stereo.

Audacity seems much more complicated, showing all the channels as separate tracks. I'm daunted from even adding the 4K Dolby Digital track and matching them up.

Is there anything simpler you can recommend, or can anyone with some experience in Reaper explain to me what I'm doing wrong? I've done a few syncs, but they were all mono/2.0 mono.

Been lurking on some other sites but eager to contribute here, now that I know a bit more about the site. Been contributing to Moshram when I can (ripping laserdiscs/vhs currently).

Hi, all. I'm just a regular guy who's very much into extended-cut movies. I like all kinds of movies, but mostly kung-fu and SyFy. Glad to be a part of this community.

Return to Oz (1985) - LD Stereo Mix
Posted by: James76 - 2022-09-03, 01:31 AM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - No Replies

Has anyone ripped the original stereo track of Return to Oz (1985) from the USA LD (marked 341 AS) and synced it to the Blu-ray? All digital releases feature a 5.1 mix. I don't know whether the 5.1 mix is the 6-track stereo mix on some prints or an upmix.

Please let me know ASAP.

A Chinese Ghost Story (1987) - mono mix
Posted by: NeonBible - 2022-09-02, 05:10 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - Replies (12)

Looking likely we won't be getting a decent release of this any time soon, I was thinking about syncing a mono mix with the Blu-ray.

Does anyone have the mono from any older home releases? I'm going to bet no one has an LD. Anyone have the IVL DVD or even VCD?

Thanks.

  Preserving HDR/DV information when editing
Posted by: borisanddoris - 2022-09-02, 04:09 PM - Forum: Audio and video editing - Replies (10)

Maybe this is a dumb question, but I want to take a 4K UHD disc I've ripped, and re-edit a movie to conform to a different cut that does not exist in HD or UHD.  Yes, I'm going to be secretive because I want it to be a surprise and also, I'm not sure how well its going to go.  Either way, I want to preserve the color information best I can, just need to re-cut the film.  Is there a way to do this when importing the video stream into Adobe Premiere?  If not, what's the best way to keep the video as faithful to the HDR/DV transfer as possible?  Thanks!

Hello all,

I'm very interested in fan preservations and creating my own. I would love to learn how to do so here.
