Hello.

So I do Anime Series Movie Recuts (among all other my pasttimes), meaning that I take an anime series, I remove everything unacessary and keep anything that is integral to the plot.

I also remove any shot that is just padding (even the sneaky 1-5 seconds shots that just dither time) and make it so that the experience is a s flowing as possible (may vary in relation to the type of anime, animes with stand alone episodes like Samurai Champloo are the most difficult to work on).

Star Trek 2 The Wrath of Khan Theatrical Cut (Sky HDTV 1080p v1.0)

I know the UHD is coming out very, very soon but my favorite rendition of the ST2 has always been the Sky version (also previously on iTunes). I love its warm, saturated look and very film like appearance. And my favorite cut of the movie is the theatrical cut (TC) even though the DC isn't bad (unlike ST6). So I went about cutting the Sky broadcast into the TC and added the 2 or 3 shots missing from one of the BDs. Although I like the HDTV it has a host of problems common to broadcasts. First the black levels are off and second there is a ton of macroblocking, some minor others major. I set the correct levels for the movie and then upscaled the movie to 4K and ran marcoblocking filter to fix 95% of the problems. For the remaining 5% of issues, half I went frame-by-frame painting out the macroblocking. For the parts left that couldn't be fixed with any methods, like so:



I plugged in parts from other TC BDs and color corrected them to match. Shots from the final battle with static on the viewscreen I left alone as the replacement's color didn't work. The end results were downscaled back to a 1080p MKV.

For audio I included the older 1st gen BD's tracks, the wonderful PCM from the laserdisc and finally the tracks from the first gen TC DVD. The DD 2.0 on the DVD sounds surprisingly really good.

The Sky HDTV broadcast with the correct levels, macroblocking cleaned up and frames replaced if need be, cut down to the TC.

Ok, posting a few of my projects here, starting with this one, which was my very first. 

I did this a few years ago (2015, 2017, can't remember exactly), and I've shared it with quite a few people, so it's been online for some time. 
As a major Twin Peaks fan, I was over the moon when the deleted scenes of FWWM finally came to light. It's been a dream of mine to watch a full extended cut of the film since I read the shooting script for the first time.
I remember reading Lynch had no desire to change the film and include the scenes, so it was time to learn a few things about video editing and create my own extended cut. 

In the meantime, a Twin Peaks fan that uses the name 'Q2' and has many Lynch related fan projects released his extended cut and was very much praised by the TP community. I remember thinking "Great, someone else did this, someone who knows how to do these things" so I went after it, watched it, and...I didn't like it. I mean, it was basically the same stuff I was planning to do, but I don't think all the deleted material should be incorporated back into the film. Some scenes (at least to me) only work as a bonus, they deviate too much from the main story, some scenes needed to be shortened, anyway, it needed some polishing and it could be better. 
So I said what the hell, I'm gonna do this and if it turns out bad, I'll just delete it and learn to enjoy Q2's edit. 
Well, it was a lot of work but I finished it and was very satisfied with it.
