Is there any tool to edit and resynchronize Blu-ray PGS SUP subtitles?
Posted by: Onti - 2021-07-17, 05:47 PM - Forum: Converting, encoding, authoring - Replies (2)

I mean without OCR, I just want to modify some lines (changing the text) and resynchronize some parts, then I want to save again as PGS SUP. Any software for this?

  immersive video
Posted by: spoRv - 2021-07-13, 08:48 AM - Forum: Movies, TV shows and other - Replies (2)

There is immersive audio: Auro 3D, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X.

But what technology could be defined "immersive video" (related to movies)?

I thing (guess?) the best option nowaday is ScreenX (as well as Barco Escape, but it's dead, sadly); a three-screen presentation - central, left and right walls (there is also an option of a cealing screen).

Unfortunately I had not the chance to see a movie in ScreenX, but watching their trailer, it seems an interesting way to put the viewer in the center (literally) of action!

Technically, it could be improved - the seams are still too visible, sometimes badly seamed, the side screens often does not have matching color/brightness of the main one, or they just use a mirror or distorted copy of the main screen.

But, apart these problems, the idea works IMHO.

What do you think?

  1984 DVD Audio
Posted by: alexpeden2000 - 2021-07-12, 11:55 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - Replies (1)

Have decided to go through my Criterion Blu-rays and see which ones suffer from noise-reduction (Badlands, which I'm syncing the LD for, is definitely one).

Just wondering if anyone has the R1 DVD of 1984 they could share please? The Criterion Blu-ray has both versions but while the Eurthymics version is excellent, the Muldowney audio is very muffled).

[Cancelled] The Crow (LD-1st gen DVD Regrade)
Posted by: PDB - 2021-07-12, 07:29 PM - Forum: In progress - Replies (81)

The Crow (LD-1st gen DVD Regrade)

This is a regrade to the older laserdisc video master as seen in the first generation DVD. The colors vary a great deal between the DVD and the US BD but the overall darkness of the DVD is why I found this regrade interesting.

The video regrading was done via automatic scripting matching the US BD video to the older DVD master. Once that was complete I modified the black level and shadows to more conform with the DVD's levels. Right now I am going through the entire project shot by shot and fixing any shot/scene the strayed too far from the DVD. The video will be synced to the US BD.

After that I tried to add every soundtrack I had access to. I was looking for the Cinema DTS for this but was unable to find it via the regular sources. In fact its a bit of a mystery to me. IMDB and the end credits list the movie as DTS/DS which makes sense for Dimension productions at the time but all print 35mm examples I have seen show the film as DD. So I'm not sure there are DTS disc around. Regardless, I will add the LD's PCM via BusterD. I would like the LD's DTS or DD but that seems unlikely. Hopefully, the 1st gen DVD's DD 5.1 is close to the LD's DD 5.1. I also will add the CE's DVD tracks and the BD track.

Video:
The US scan of the film regraded to the laserdisc/1st gen DVD.

Audio:
1. PCM 2.0 Dolby Surround (from the Widescreen laserdisc)
2. Dolby Digital 5.1 (from the non-anamorphic DVD)
3. Dolby Digital 5.1 (from the CE DVD)
4. DTS 5.1 (from the CE DVD)
5. DTS-HD MA 5.1 (from the US BD)

Sync:
US BD with subs

Sega cd the adventures of Batman and Robin cutscenes I found one of the producers of the game on LinkedIn he’s sadly not on social media. so that’s the only place Anyone can ask him if a high quality version of the footage still exists somewhere. can someone who has a LinkedIn ask him so if the cutscenes still exist can look just as good as the hd version of the series.
