Hi Friends

I’ve been enjoying editing my own version of Alien Covenant using all the deleted scenes, extras and online content from it and Prometheus. I wanted to see if anyone else had been doing something similar and stumbled upon this forum and it’s very exciting to find so many others who enjoy similar stuff, but done with far more skills and resources.

Excited to explore the forum more and participate in the community. I’ll be mostly lurking for a while though, to make sure I understand the culture of the board.

Have a great day ☺️

Just wanted to post a brief introduction and say hello!

I've been a huge Star Wars fan my entire life which recently led me to doing research on fan restorations of my favorite franchise (I'm baffled it took me so long to discover these existed). Of course as you learn more and more about these passion projects, it leads you down further rabbit holes.

As I began looking into projects of some of my other favorite franchises (i.e. Highlander), it led me here. And as I browse this site, I've discovered even more projects that intrigue me. The world of fan restorations is huge and I'm glad that I've discovered it.

And it's not just the films themselves (which is satisfactory enough). It's learning about the restoration process itself, the different film stock, what sources still exist, what audio is used, etc.

Looking forward to learning more thru the resources provided!

Hi There,

I'm a massive fan of cinema, and like a lot of people here, I'm looking to obtain versions of movies I love which are no longer officially available on newer higher definition digital formats and in widescreen or open matte.

Lately, I've been really interested in the Highlander film series, and I'm looking to obtain the US Theatrical Cut of Highlander (1986) as well as the European and US Theatrical release versions of Highlander 2.

Best Regards,

MetalGearDmodel.

Hi, I recently discovered this site looking for other versions of T2 (we all know about the 4K scan) that I could watch instead of the DVD version or the official 4K version

Hi everyone I'm new here because I was trying to find Rumble in the Bronx's original HK version.
Low and behold I found a master restorer!

I'm here to learn more and look forward to possibly contribute back to the community. You all seem to be AV experts and have a very keen sense of cinema versions and discrepencies in Hollywood bought cinema.

Hello everyone

I've long been interested in acquiring and preserving rare and unique versions of media.

After registering here years ago and knowing about this community even longer, I'm glad I was finally able to login with all that confusion with fanres/fanrestore domains.  :)

Video Pink Floyd at Pompeii 4K Restored
Posted by: marin888 - 2025-02-21, 10:14 PM - Forum: Official and unofficial releases - Replies (3)

Quote:  While not IMAX, yesterday Cinemark posted a listing for "Pink Floyd at Pompeii - MCMLXXII" with an April 24th 2025 release date. The description is as follows:

"The newly restored 4K version, scanned from the original negative, presents the first full 90-minute cut, combining the 60-minute source edit of the performance, with additional Abbey Road Studios documentary segments covering the recording of 1973's The Dark Side of the Moon. The amphitheater concert includes performances of seminal tracks Echoes and One of These Days, alongside earlier hits Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun and A Saucerful of Secrets. Also features a brand-new audio remix by Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree, preserving the authenticity and spirit of the original recording."
