I'm not great at introductions but this is one of the few forums that i came across that i noticed has open matte formats for a lot of my favorite movies. Films have been a hugh part of my life since a kid and watching them in all their glory is nothing short of a dream come true. I would love to contribute and learn more about the process at play here and meet like minded folks while I'm at it. Cheers Smile

Hellboy (2004) DC and Starship Troopers (1997) isolated score and composer commentary
Posted by: Red41804 - 2024-06-22, 05:35 AM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - No Replies

Does anyone happen to have the Hellboy (2004) DC and the Starship Troopers 2002 DVD isolated score and composer commentary tracks? I'm planning to sync those tracks to the UHD Blu-Rays of those films since they didn't include it along with the other extras.

Pan's Labyrinth: Criterion or Optimum Blu-Ray?
Posted by: Red41804 - 2024-06-22, 04:54 AM - Forum: Official and unofficial releases - No Replies

I'm planning to make a definitive version of Pan's Labyrinth, which blu-ray has the best picture quality, the Criterion blu-ray has a 2K master approved by director Guillermo Del Toro while I heard that the Optimum blu-ray has the best image quality and is open matte 1.78, while the 5.1 audio had audio pitch issues that can be easily fixed, which blu-ray should I take the video from? The UHD is out of the picture as it has some DNR.

Posted by: kiyoakiwah - 2024-06-21, 12:53 PM - Forum: Released - Replies (5)

not synced by me, but the person who gave me the file said it would be okay to post it here, so i assume there won't be a problem. thanks to the other member from here who synced it!

it'll sync with all blurays that aren't encoded in VC-1 (those are the ones with 7.1, 5.1/6.1 and 2.0/4.0 audio)

Cinema DTS - 5.1/6.1

The Magnificent Seven 1989 LD mono
Posted by: James76 - 2024-06-19, 04:04 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - Replies (1)

Hi,

I don't own any home video release of The Magnificent Seven (1960) yet, but I will get the recent Shout! Factory 4K UHD Blu-ray sometime.

According to Blah-ray, Moshrom says that the 1989 MGM LaserDisc (ML101563) sounds the best and even better than the 1984 CBS/Fox Hi-Fi VHS, due to it having "more detail, slightly less hiss," and "a wider dynamic range" (I'm guessing that the 1989 LaserDisc is probably from higher generation elements). I would like it if someone could rip the mono track from said LaserDisc and sync it to the recent Shout! Factory 4K UHD Blu-ray as a 2.0 mono LPCM WAV or FLAC file so I can mux it to my MKV rip of the movie from the 4K UHD Blu-ray after I get it.

Thanks,
James76

Hi!

Movie buff of all eras really, but particularly fond of the black and white comedies.

Looking forward to seeing what this group has to offer and what I can offer back.

Have a great day!
