Total noob here, recently discovered this place. I was inspired by the semi-recent CinemaStix video on the idea of editing The Bourne Identity without the Treadstone scenes... I started trying to make my own, then went googling to see if there was discussion about that kind of movie editing, and I found this place! I don't know the lay of the land but I'm excited at the idea of re-cutting movies for new perspective! I've only heard of this kind of thing before with the Star Wars Machete order, and that's not even cutting movies it's just a watch order.
No idea what I'm doing, gonna try and learn the culture here first, and it seems like introductions are a part of the process, so this is me saying howdy o7

I've been into the magic of movies since I was a small kid. My parents never currated if a movie was appropiate for me or not and because of that I was 9 years old when I first saw Predator. I shit my pants, couldn't sleep and my mind was blown. But after that, I was hooked on movies.
But for some reason I never knew about fan restorations. I was getting extremely bored with Netflix and I wondered why I didn't even like to watch the old classics anymore. Then I came across a video on YouTube explaining the difference between the original Aliens and the digitalized version and I finally understood what is so magical about the 35mm originals movies.
So to any one creating these movies... Thank you! Since I've seen a few restored movies, I found back my love for these movies as how they where once created. It was like opening a window to how I once remembered the movie (especially Predator, but luckily I didn't shit my pants this time).
I know you shouldn't request anything... but I'm still gonna do it, since I hope my story resonates with someone that could help me. Nine years ago on this day, I've lost my son Mathijs. I was still borned and we cremated him in a setting styled as Where The Wild Things Are. Now I understood that movies was shot in 35mm and I hope some one has it restored and digitalized somewhere with the soundtrack as how it was seen in cinema. So not the Arcade Fire trailer version. It would mean the world to me since the soundtrack from Karen O and the Kids has a specific memory to the events for when we lost our son.
I hope some one reads this and thank you in advance if you are willing to help.

My name's Jae55555; I am on YouTube under the same name. I wandered in here after looking for the correct version of the Matrix. The community seems cool but I'm a little confused about where to watch the scans you all upload.

Synced 6.1 Cinema DTS-ES to the UHD. I don't think the discrete channel adds any value, and there's some clipping the UHD doesn't have, but perhaps someone will be interested regardless.
Available in two formats:
- DTS-HD MA 6.1, 23.976 FPS, 48 kHz, 16 bit, slots in with the UHD
- FLACs, 24 FPS, 44.1 kHz, 24 bit - the purist option, but needs further adjustment (see below)
The FLAC is intended mainly for people interested in doing further projects with the track. It has the levels untouched, they need to be adjusted as follows: +3 dB LFE, -3 dB surounds. Each channel is in an individual file.

Hello everyone.
My name is bazooka4326 and I am glad to finally join this community. I have been following fan restoration and preservation work for a long time and I really appreciate the effort that goes into keeping films available in their best possible state. It is inspiring to see how much care and passion people here put into restoring material that might otherwise be lost or overlooked. I look forward to learning more, contributing where I can, and being part of the discussions.
