  Robin Hood (1973) - European 1080p WEB-DL
Posted by: James76 - 2026-07-11, 04:22 PM - Forum: Official and unofficial releases - Replies (1)

Hi,

I was wondering if someone has the properly restored European Amazon 1080p WEB-DL¹ of Disney’s Robin Hood (1973). I’d like to use it for a video of the sync Songs from Sherwood Forest².

  1. This runs at 25fps and is not to be confused with the Disney+ 1080p WEB-DL, which is of Disney’s destructively restored Blu-ray version and runs at 23.976fps.
  2. This is a sync of the movie with Jethro Tull’s album Songs from the Wood (1977) on repeat until the end of the movie. It was discovered by Tyler C. Buffett in April 15th, 2014. I’m going to use my rip of the 2003 remastered CD of the album (minus the 2 bonus tracks) for the sync audio made in Audacity, slow the video down to 23.976fps in MKVToolNix, and replace the movie audio with the sync audio in Kdenlive.
Thanks,
James

  New here

Hey everyone!

Pleasure to be here. I'm new to fanedits, and frankly forums in general, but have really been appreciating the stuff that Doc Sapirstein has put out, and the Hobbit book cut. I had no idea a fanedit could be so professionally done, to the point of improving the "officially" released film!

Looking forward to interacting with you all!

Best modern method for converting PAL to remove speedup and lightly upscale
Posted by: captainsolo - 2026-07-08, 07:13 PM - Forum: Converting, encoding, authoring - Replies (3)

I've got a few projects where I'd like to take PAL DVDs and just convert them to remove the speedup to get back to the original film speed. All of them are 24fps film based materials with NTSC transfers of other versions elsewhere. I'm on a mac now and was wondering what the best overall solution to do this is. I've also got another LD analog audio audio source to try and sync to one PAL DVD that has seems to have some slight time compression I need to remove. The masters seem to be using the exact same rare source and I'd like to get the audio synced without any speedup in the final file.
This one, the Spanish PAL DVD of the rare alternate cut of Journey Into Fear, I'd like to upscale once the speedup is fixed so that I can make a video comparison with the BD footage of the US cut. Ideally, I'd like to reconstruct the European cut using the good BD footage as a base with an eventual goal of making a reconstruction of the shooting script if I can ever get access to that.

  There Can Only Be One!

Hey everybody! I absolutely love certain versions of movies, be they original theatrical or director's cut (depending on whether DC changes make sense and don't bog the movie down) and I really have to get a hold of a HD copy of the US Theatrical version of Highlander.

The Exorcist (1973) 4K TC Reconstruct. - Exorcism fixed
Posted by: sanjuro_61 - 2026-07-07, 07:33 PM - Forum: In progress - Replies (14)

Hey guys.
First of all, the title is pretty much self explanatory. The exorcism scenes, badly chroma dnr'ed (WTF is that?, seriously), will be replaced with the AI upscaled (the horror!) BD ones, and of course regraded.
I had a divx file of the 1997 DVD version I got from the archive dot org... but I can't find it (I must have accidentally deleted it). It will be helpful if I can get it again, as the 35mm print floating around is not very good (it's, indeed, faded). IMO, besides the exorcism, I don't think the 4K is in need of a regrading. Honestly, it looks good to me.

Now, a question that is bugging me:
I remembered a few years ago, the moviecensorship site, as we all know, great for comparing different versions, mentioned a digital tweak of Regan's mouth somewhere during the exorcism, or a scene right before it. Now is not mentioned anymore? Am I delusional? It would be great if someone could shed some light on this.

Work is in progress!

  Scarface (1983) Laserdisc
Posted by: cetya - 2026-07-07, 10:31 AM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - Replies (1)

Hi,

Does anyone have a PCM rip Scarface (1983) LD? Looking to sync it to a Blu-ray and 4k versions.

There is a thread here, with already synced one, but I didn't get any response.

Thanks,
Alex

Apollo 13 (1995) DTS Laserdisc synced to UHDBD
Posted by: kenkenken96 - 2026-07-05, 10:56 AM - Forum: Released - No Replies

Apollo 13 (1995) DTS Laserdisc [Japan: PILF-2639]  synced to UHDBD

TS: Original DTS (44.1 kHz / 20-bit) in a TS container
FLAC: 44.1 kHz / 24-bit

Syncing the audio while keeping it as raw DTS turned out to be more work than I expected.

This DTS stream can't be muxed into MKV or similar containers directly, and it also can't be merged as-is. The only way I found was to wrap it in a TS container with tsMuxeR first, then merge it.

The TS file isn't very practical on its own. It's really only useful if you play the video in a player like MPC-BE and load the TS as an external audio track.

also included a FLAC, so that's the one you should use in most cases.

PM me for link.

Question: What year did studios stop using certain audio formats?
Posted by: rinrinabis - 2026-07-04, 08:50 AM - Forum: Audio and video editing - Replies (6)

What year did studios stop using Mono?

What Year did studios stop using Dolby Stereo?

This thread is so that I can see when studios stopped using certain audio formats so I can see if an audio mix on a home video release is the theatrical mix or a remix.
