Hello.
May be a long shot, but would anyone happen to have Cantonese audio for this one? I think the highest resolution it'll have been released on would be DVD, but that might be better quality than audio from a webrip.
Cheers.

Laserdisc audio on official 4k discs? |

Question for people that are far more knowledgeable than I am: has anyone checked to see how the audio tracks on released 4k discs compare to actual bit-perfect transfers done by people here?
From my own collection, I know it's been done on Young Guns, Robocop and Basic Instinct. I saw people complaining in the Basic Instinct thread over at blu-ray.com that there was some sibilance there and was wonder if that might have been introduced in their workflow.

Saw this and thought it was interesting. They have a new set of AI software that allows lips to be "resynced" to a different language. I had heard about it being used on the movie Fall (2022) but now it being used to dub the Swedish movie UFO Sweden (aka Watch the Skies) into English using the original actors.

Curious to compare the versions when available. Kind of reminds me of the Herzog Nosferatu.

Here to find some old gems and hidden gems I've missed to watch in my childhood.
Mostly looking into some HK films for my parents to watch. But appreciate a little nostalgia myself here and there.

Manhunter (1986) - Restored Complete cut |

This is my complete fan restoration of Michael Mann's Manhunter, which I made back in 2007.
I used the 4 different cuts of this movie, available in 4 different DVDs and included all scenes in these 4 cuts, and included all deleted scenes in these DVDs. These cuts do not exist in modern blue rays, so it's impossible to recreate a complete cut of this move in 1080p quality.
Unlike other encodes of that era, mine preserved the full DVD resolution and aspect ratio of 720 X 304 @23.976fps, and was enconded with xvid, however rather than the encodes of that era, my encode, after careful study of the xvid codec settings, was done with a view to fully persevere the quality, (and only as a second priority at the lowest possible file size). giving a final size of 2.26 GB, rather than 1.4GB which was a common file size that era. This size is similar on how a DVD9 would encode today on the x265 codec today, on a dual pass mode at maximal quality settings.
For compatibility with modern players and TVs, I reencoded this in a modern mkv container and the x265 codec dual pass at maximal quality settings and the original 720x304 resolution, resulting in a file size of 2.28GB, which proves the above point.
The audio is still the original 5.1 audio from the DVD, AC3 codec @ 448kbps.
The approach I followed here (recreating a complete cut, incorporating all scenes) is the same as leonenut's (whose encode of this movie can still be found on archive dot org), with 2 key differences.
1) From a visual point of view, my encode is of a significantly higher quality than leonenut's
2) Unlike leonenut, I used as a base the DVD which had a color coding resulting in vibrant and fluorescent colors, which in my view, captures the cult status and late 80s spirit of this movie far better. Please see linked images for details.

Howdy, I'm new to this site but by no means new to the fanedit community. I've contributed multiple hard to find files to editors on the other forums, including reddit and fanedits.org, and I run several terabytes of seedboxes dedicated to providing communities with access to great art by fans!
