The Matrix UHD regraded to the 1999 DVD (Color Experiment #1)

The.Matrix.1999.DVD.Regrade.2160p.SDR.HEVC.Cinema.DTS.5.1.v1.0 (Color Experiment #1)

This is a regrade of the UHD of The Matrix to the old 1999 DVD. Using The Matrix DVD has less to do with any debate over the movie's colors, it's more about me testing different regrade processes.

The Matrix turned out to be a terrible test project. Even though the UHD's grading isn't as extreme as the BD's grade, it still graded to within an inch of its life. That makes it is very difficult to pull it back to something looking like the DVD.

Its not 100%, still some artifacts, some highlight and luma issues but slowly working out the bugs. I think I have progressed far enough to take what I've learned put it into this project and see how it works. Having said that I do expect some errors in the final product while I sort things out.

  Hi everyone!

Hello everyone!

I've been a huge collector of the original Star Wars and Indiana Jones home video releases, as well many other films that didn't got a "proper" treatment faithful to the OG Cinema, either on BD or on 4K UHD.

I'm here to support this wonderful community and their hard efforts.

  Where to find leaked DCPs
Posted by: stantheman_11 - 2026-01-06, 05:33 AM - Forum: Everything else... - Replies (2)

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm not sure if this is the right or wrong question to be asking here, but does anyone know the best sources for leaked DCPs (I believe another user in this forum mentioned them, but I'm not sure where to get them).
Thanks

Hello! I'm new and I just wanted to say thank you to all those who work tirelessly to provide these restored films and doing what the film companies themselves refuse to do because they don't see the "profit in it". Much love, glad to be here!
