The World Is Not Enough (1999) SE DVD Synced to DEFLATE 4K
Posted by: WDW203 - 2025-07-19, 07:22 PM - Forum: Released - Replies (3)

I have synced the audio from the 2000 Special Edition DVD of The World Is Not Enough (1999) to the 4K DEFLATE release. After the initial delay, the DVD was only missing 2 frames. I have inserted silence losslessly using eac3to based on this guide: https://fanrestore.com/thread-1587.html. I expect this track to be the same as the one on the Japanese LaserDisc [PILF-2842], which is Dolby Surround EX encoded. However, I have no way to prove this, so I have provided one track with the EX flag set using EXme, and one without.

Please PM me for a link.

The Matrix (1999) Cinema DTS synced to 2018 UHD/Blu-ray?
Posted by: James76 - 2025-07-19, 03:33 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - No Replies

I don’t own any home video releases of the Matrix movies (1999-2021) yet, but I was wondering if someone could rip the Cinema DTS track of The Matrix (1999) and sync it in DTS-HD MA (with the rear channels’ decibels changed according to the Cinema DTS guidelines) to the 2018 UHD and 1080p Blu-rays.

I’d like to get the synced DTS-HD MA tracks and mux them to my future MKV rips of the 2018 UHD and 1080p Blu-rays to replace the Dolby Digital 5.1 downmix of the Dolby Atmos remix as soon as I get the 2018 3-disc UHD release of The Matrix (1999), but that won’t be until after I get a refurbished 3840x2160p Windows 11 Pro laptop with a Generation 7 to 10 Intel Core SGX card, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision compatibility, and 3D video playback and a pre-patched non-USB-powered external “4K UHD friendly” Blu-ray drive (possibly for Christmas next year, since I’m planning on getting a few expensive things for Christmas this year).

Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) Laserdisc [LV6830-2WS] sync to UHD

Movie: Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)
Source: 1994 Laserdisc [LV6830-2WS] rip by zero 1999
Synced to: Paramount UHD

Input: PCM 16-bit, 44.1khz, Stereo (dual mono)
Output: FLAC 16-bit, 44.1khz, Stereo (dual mono)

Credit and thanks to original ripper zero 1999. About 12 different syncs throughout the track. Italian movie so almost everything is badly dubbed if the original actor wasn't speaking English. Took some liberties cause I felt the Bluray track didn't feel right in some parts. Feel free to make corrections if you have the Laserdisc video for reference.
UHD track is the Bluray track but filtered to get rid of loud ringing noises over some of the dubbings found in the original recording. But both sound muddy and a lot worse than this laserdisc. PM for link.

  Indiana Jones DVD Mixes
Posted by: JunkeonWedge - 2025-07-18, 09:47 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - No Replies

Hey all. I was hoping someone could clear up some questions I had about the Indiana Jones DVD sound mixes. I heard that the Raiders DVD uses the 70mm/VistaSonic mix. Is that true? Does that mean that Temple of Doom and Last Crudade use their 70mm mixes, or are they remixes?

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) Laserdisc sync to UHD
Posted by: WontonNoodle - 2025-07-17, 09:52 PM - Forum: Released - Replies (1)

Movie: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Source: LaserDisc rip found on internet archive
Synced to: UHD

Input: PCM 16-bit, 44.1khz, Stereo
Output: DTS-HD MA 16-bit, 48khz, Dolby Stereo (Lt Rt)

Credit to the original ripper (zero 1999?). Couldn't find a release for this and the Atmos remix is extra awful compared to the other movies as well as out of sync in some scenes so I gave my first sync a shot. Used the DVD track for reference. Required about 10 different syncs throughout the track. -21ms delay required when muxing. PM for link.

I'm sharing with you my Work In Progress of 2001: A Space Odyssey, based on a remastered 70mm scan from the original camera negative. Broadcast on NHK BS8K (Japan) and recorded on April 3, 2025, at 1:00:07 PM.

This was the first film in history to be broadcast in 8K, originally released on December 1, 2018, on BS8K. Info: https://amass.jp/112432/

For technical details on the remastering:
https://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/1152318.html

The recording was purchased from a seller in China and made with a dedicated PT4K satellite receiver card, the only one on the market capable of recording 8K broadcasts without loss of quality.

My goal is to add as many dubbings and subtitles as possible, including all formats (theatrical, home media, TV, streaming). If you have any such material or technical information that might be useful (audio, subtitles, etc.), please contact me privately, leave a comment, or write to: metahades1889@gmail.com https://linktr.ee/metahades1889

The RAW sample attached above was created by cropping the movie with a python script, it has no quality compression, in short, this is exactly how the complete .ts file looks.

I'll be updating the progress on Telegram and Discord (links above). Once completed, the project will be publicly accessible to everyone. All contributions are welcome: preservationists, archivists, collectors, restorers, remasterers, researchers, language geeks, and fans are invited to participate.

The recording comes with the following specifications:

Video
Length: 2h 29min
Codec: HEVC
Bitrate: 58.5mb/s
Width: 7680 pixels
Height: 4320 pixels
Aspect ratio: 16:9

Audio
Language: English
Format: AAC LC
Bitrate: 315 kb/s
Channel(s): 6
Sample rate: 48.0 kHz

Audio
Language: English
Format: AAC LC
Bitrate: 251 kb/s
Channel(s): 2
Sample rate: 48.0 kHz

Forced subtitles: Japanese

By the time this project is released, if you want to play it on a computer, you will need at least an RTX 3060 graphics card.

Thanks:

Spiroku, Sebern, Yuyoiuyoiu, FukuyoHD, Gelats.

P.S.: West Side Story (1961) and My Fair Lady (1964) were also broadcast in 8K on this channel, based on 70mm scans taken from the original camera negative. I may be able to find past recordings or wait for new broadcasts to capture them and develop similar projects.

Please share with everyone!
