Hello, I have a problem, having made the ac3 capture of the film, it's been 3 weeks that I try to synchronize it with the uhd video, but nothing to do. 

I mainly work with the VideoPad software which allows to modify the speed of the video, length, fps. VideoPad does not support ac3, I have to launch it in mkvtoolnix. I have already made test synchronization with other cinema dts films it went very well, but with the laserdisc it is a disaster. Do you have any solutions? Thank you.

Hi all. Lately there have been multiple cases of people trying to reply to a private message, by sending an e-mail as a reply to the e-mail notification from the forum. Please don't do this. Your replies go to my admin mailbox (the address of which is clearly visible, when you're composing your reply), not to your recipient. If this keeps happening, I'll create some kind of "noreply" system e-mail I guess, but your e-mails still won't go, where you think they will.

Not sure why this is happening this month in particular, I don't think anybody has done this in the past 10 years or so.

This might be a daft question but if all I want to do is capture the audio from an NTSC VHS, is there any issue with just using my PAL VHS player? I know the picture won't work but will there be any issue with the audio.

No soy un muchacho joven; he sido editor de vídeo durante más de 30 años.
Hace siete años sufrí una grave lesión en los discos lumbares, que me ha dejado confinado al PC prácticamente todo el día, centrándome más en mi afición a la edición de vídeo.
Actualmente, además de ser miembro y subir vídeos al mejor foro privado de torrents de España, remasterizo películas, consiguiendo una calidad que deja a la mayoría de quienes las ven por primera vez sin palabras. Es como pasar de ver una película a 1080p a 3840p.
Sinceramente, vine aquí buscando títulos de películas con versiones Open Matte para remasterizar.
También, por supuesto, estoy dispuesto a ayudar y responder cualquier pregunta que puedan tener mis nuevos colegas.

Hi, I just found out about this forum and wanted to come in an check and talk about the fan restorations on here.

Hey, guys.

I'm currently recreating the French version, international cut, based on the Arrow UHD that I'll tonemap to SDR in Ripbot264 and resize to 1080p.
I already resynchronized the French dts 5.1 from the 4K remastered MGM Blu-ray, except transcoded to PCM stereo. I used the dts HDMA 5.1 from the English version in a few spots for better transitions, also transcoded to PCM stereo. I have a lead on a VHS tape that should include the original mono that I'll try to sync to it as well.
Now for the French parts, I have the opening credits and closing credits from the Arrow bonus section, in fake HD. I also have a French TV recording in fake HD for the credits and characters' nicknames.











Now there's a problem with the end credits: my French recording has a pop-up at the bottom for the next program, and apparently Arrow must have used that same source 'cause they cropped the bottom part and, doing so, the aspect ratio is now wider. So I'll have to zoom in to recover the same black bar thickness as the rest.




Now for the help part: can anybody with the best AI upscale capabilities chime in and try their best at upscaling these fake HD parts? I'll deal with the color matching afterwards so it all blends in the best I can. All I managed to do with built-in AI upscale in Shutter Encoder is this and, although it gives better delineation to the texts, it's seems to smooth the image:





The final product would include the French international version in 1080p with French audio from MGM, possibly VHS and English and audio commentary from Arrow, plus French subtitles from MGM rearranged by myself and English SDH subtitles from Arrow.

2010 France Blu-ray of True Romance by Metropolitan Film has exclusive bonus features that are exclusive to this release and haven't been ported over to other markets and were also absent from the 2022 Arrow Video release.
