I mentioned in my post for the T2 SE LD audio that I was working on my own T2 custom. I decided since a bulk of the project was audio syncs I would just release the syncs I did for the Theatrical Cut. I synced a total of 3 tracks to the 4K 35mm Scan.
NOTE: All tracks listed are synced to SPECIFICALLY the 2160p 35mm Optical CC WB at a frame rate of 23.976. The scan is at a frame rate of 24.000, the easiest way to adjust the frame rate is to use MKVToolNix and type in "23.976" into the "Default Duration/FPS" section on the video. You can also speed the audio back up to 24 via eac3to.
1: Original CDS Mix
Sourced from the DTS track on the 2003 Pioneer JPDVD, Available in 24-bit 48kHz FLAC 5.1
2: Original Dolby Stereo SR Mix
Sourced from a bit-perfect capture of the US WS Laserdisc, Available in 16-bit 44.1kHz FLAC 2.0
3: DTS Headphone:X Remix
Sourced from the 2015 US Blu-Ray. I thought this track was rather impressive so I decided to sync it for my project. Available in 24-bit 48kHz FLAC 2.0
3.5: Custom Dolby Atmos "Bed" Upmix
As an experiment I decided to upmix the Headphone:X track to 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos, Do note this track is highly experimental and will not provide a full Atmos experience. Available in 24-bit 48kHz TrueHD 7.1 Atmos
No Longer Available
As per usual all audios are freely available to any account new and old. Cheers!

Had this laying around on my mega account. I personally synced this track because I was looking for a version of the 5.1 mix that didn't have the missing lines and could not find a rip of the DTS-HD HR from the Lionsgate BD. I later found out that this track from the DVD actually has less noise reduction than the Lionsgate 5.1 and sound much more natural compared to the LD Dolby Stereo mix.
Available in FLAC 5.1, if any alternate formats are needed state in the PM, freely available to all members new and old

So excited to discover this community. I've been interested in learning more about the process of these restorations. I have a background in editing in the animation industry, but don't have a lot of nitty gritty technical knowhow with regards to manipulating already created assets. Looking forward to diving in and reading about everything and asking my questions!

I am currently working on my own personal T2 project and since I don't have plans to share it (mostly because I don't feel it's unique enough to warrant a projects page).
I thought I'd at least share this as I didn't see anyone post about as most projects for this film focus on the Theatrical Cut.
I have synced a bit-perfect capture of the T2 Special Edition Dolby Surround LD mix to the 2015 BD. I've heard this mix is quite beloved and listening to it for myself it's a quite a powerful stereo track. Probably doesn't need to be said but this is synced to the 153 min Special Edition and not the 156 min Extended Special Edition.
Available in 16-bit 44.1kHz FLAC, free for any account new and old

| Toy Story 2 (1999) UTB/Fullscreen standalone DVD Audio Hybrid to 2010 Blu-Ray |

Inspired by PhysDigiCollCorn's Reborn and noogai3's LD audio syncs, I decided to do one for Toy Story 2 by ripping the audio from the Ultimate Toy Box DVD and the full screen version from the standalone disc (since the latter contains bloopers) as these are Dolby Digital EX encoded and I heard that it might be closest to the original theatrical mix released to theaters.
One minor note, the DVD is missing a frame of footage during the scene where Utility Belt Buzz laments the "loss" of his "father" which I have to add a millisecond of silence just to keep up with the Blu-Ray copy which was used as a reference for syncing.
Speaking of the Blu-Ray release, the AC3 track is synchronized to the 2010 copy as current versions cut out the "casting couch" gag from the blooper reel in the light of the sexual accusations towards John Lasseter (a disgraced co-founder of Pixar). Also, the audio needs to be delayed by 17934ms with MKVToolNix as the Blu-Ray uses the 2009-present re-release masters (in which the Pixar variant of the Walt Disney Pictures logo is replaced by the 2006-2022 CGI castle logo). I might do an audio hybrid version with the edited version of the credits though if I can get my hands on the current 4K and/or Blu-Ray releases)
Even though the DVD's claim that the audio is encoded with Dolby Digital Surround EX, MediaInfo doesn't specify that so I'd assume you have to force it into Dolby EX with a receiver if it has that option? I could be wrong though.
The audio is losslessly combined with FFMPEG by using the concat filter.
PM me if you want a link for the audio

Hi all, new to the forum so let me know if this is out of scope.
I've been working towards restoring some Unsolved Mysteries segments that are only available from (mostly) poor quality VHS captures.
I didn't see an existing thread on Unsolved Mysteries in search so I assume no one else has looked at this?
These things are in very bad shape, so getting them to comfortably viewable on a TV is about the most that would be hoped for. I've done a lot of my own Avisynth testing already but wondered if anyone had any suggestions or was interested in the series.

According to Cinephiles Kino Lorber screwed up the audio on the new 4K master (4K & HD Blu-ray)
Cinephiles
Quote:The 5.1 mixes on the UHD and old BDs sound similar, but there has been a very sloppy filtering of the CRT whine inherent to the source recording on the UHD track. Instead of merely attenuating the whine, Kino chose to delete all frequencies from ~15.5 kHz to 15.8 kHz, including in sections where there is minimal to no whine. The old BDs 5.1 is not free from issues, however, as it has 120 clipped samples in the center channel and 10 in the left channel. Lastly, the UHD 5.1 has a heavy dither as it was filtered, dithered to 16-bit, and padded back to 24-bit. Personally I can't detect too much of a difference between the two tracks, though I ultimately decided on the old BD 5.1 as its clipping is extremely minimal and doesn't have the destructive filtering of the UHD 5.1. The archival commentary on the UHD is a transcode of the DVD/USA BD commentary track with no Dolby Surround metadata, so the USA BD track was preferred.
I present to you the US DVD audio. Is it better then the old Blu-ray? No idea. But it's probably not fiddled with.
Download: MEGA
Source: R1 DVD Special Edition
Included audio: English Dolby Digital 5.1 (448kbits) and DTS 5.1 (754kbits) + Audio Commentary within a .mka file
Sync Info: Add a delay of +1000ms to the DVD audio and it will stay in perfect sync to the Kino Lorber release
