I'm converting some 00000.m2ts files from BluRay rips into MKV's using MKVToolNix but it doesn't work with the chapters.txt files so I can preserve them. Is there a way to convert them for use in MKVToolNix or alternatively is there another way to convert the rips to MKV's and keep the chapters?

Reports are coming in that the track labelled as "original mono audio" on the new Psycho UHD is just a folddown of the surround remix with new added sound effects and other issues.

Fortunately the mono audio on the German Turbine BD is the original and syncs perfectly to the UHD uncut version of the movie with a delay of +667ms.

I've got a really simple project I wanna do but haven't done any video editing for years.

I want to take the main feature off a blu ray, trim the ending and then graft on the original extended ending that is available as an extra.

A/V stats are the same (1080p, ~24fps, LPCM).

Ultimately, I'd like to output the final product as an mkv with no re-encoding (although minimal re-encoding at the splice point would be tolerable).

Any suggestions for all-in-one free or trial software with a minimal learning curve to do this? I already have both clips demuxed and ready to go.

Scream supplies the film's original Dolby Stereo as the default (and only) track on both discs: a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo (1614 kbps, 24-bit) on Disc One and a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo (1646 kbps, 24-bit) on Disc Two.

The Shout Factory (Scream) release contains two different cuts: theatrical and desaturated (both, 2.0 stereo mix) but Laserdisc 4.0?

How can that difference be possible? What is the real original Dolby stereo track? I was wondering if it would be nice to have a preservation with the LD track.

The movie was originally released with a mono mix, but blu-rays only features stereo tracks (and Criterion has missing shots).

Anyone have the Eraserhead laserdisc and can capture the audio to obtain the PCM mono track?

I'd like to sync the original LD audio to the Capelight blu-ray. If you can capture the video as well, this would help syncing a lot.

Hi All,

I don't suppose anyone has the blu ray of Lock Stock from either Hong Kong, Japan, Scandinavia or Thailand? Every other release uses VC1 but those releases use AVC. 

I'm planning a reconstruction of the director's cut using the blu ray and the extra scenes from the DVD, plus the color grading from the DVD. 

Also what are people's thoughts on the level of grain in the blu ray - see below? Would you leave it as is or try and remove a little? I read it was shot on 16mm and blown up to 35mm so I guess it will never look great.
