I don't disagree. As a matter of fact, I did mention that the regrade could use a touch of gold to make Zeus skintone more shiny, to give him some glow. I think that Zeus and McClane at the payphone look too green. However, I think that Simon at the bank with his sunglasses has a touch of golden yellow that looks nice. Since PDB wants to use a single LUT for the entire film, at some point there has to be some compromise, until we have an actual print to match shot by shot, if that ever happens.

The one LUT thing is to get a baseline. To grade the movie as best possible with only one adjustment (actually many, many tiny adjustments packed into on LUT). We can adjust more, based off of the sample that is rendering right now. Its never going to be perfect but hopefully we can get 90% there. It just depends on how many notes you can give me Beber from the sample.

PDB, by "sample", you mean a few minutes sample or like you did with Die Hard 2, meaning the entire movie we can preview to report back to you? I'd prefer the 2d option to see what the LUT makes of all scenes: interiors, exteriors, subway, basement, day, night, tunnel, stadium, car chase under the rain, etc.

The entire movie. I upgraded to Adobe Premiere 2018 and it's causing me some issues hence the delay.

The added support for " .WAV files more than 4 GB." sounds good for Fan Editors. When using multi-channel audio Ive had to trans-code to mono tracks in the past.

Oh, there are a few very nice upgrades like opening more then one project at a time but I find it totally unstable on Windows 7 (I'm encoding on my win 10 machine) and they removed support for encoding and decoding Dolby streams. Which is a problem for me.

There will probably be a patch/update soon.
Adobe always has been buggy on first passes. Ive never use the Dolby Decode or Encode. I trancode / encode to lossless formats. Do you transcode your video or just use the raw stream from what ever source you are using? Back to topic - The 'golden hue' on the trailer looks like it can be achieved by pumping the midtones in the 'orange' direction slightly. It was this trailer I was referring to earlier in the thread (I think it was the DH2 one come to think of it), when I pointed out that the theatrical timing may in fact look more like the trailer. Its actually such a slight variation I doubt its was done on purpose as a grade! But it does make the presentation warmer.

Are you talking the trailer that Stamper posted? Since I'm pushing colder with greens and blue it does eat away some of that orange skin tone but I can push it if need be. Problem is this transfer like DH2 is wildly inconsistent, changing look sometimes shot to shot. I had to fix a couple of shots in DH2 since it really bugged me. Sample uploading now.

Yes it's the trailer Stamper posted.
Compared to your grade Its kind of like it has a slight golden glow on the mid-tones which im sure what Stamper was referring to as being 'stylized'. Don't pull your hair out though, this was only supposed to be a simple project to quickly make the Blu more presentable. Not a full on Theatrical Regrade! Without a print it's all guess work really. I can not wait to see your grade up to now sir.
