Sounds like this is Fisher's big tell-all I don't think there's anything we didn't already hear about in broad strokes, but the details regarding inane studio/corporate politics really accumulate to something that makes me laugh.

#RestoreTheSnyderVerse anyone?
I hear rumors that AT&T actually forced WB to do the Snyder Cut because they are fans of Snyder (as opposed to WB execs). Maybe they could pull another trick.

I find that hard to believe I'll bet they're 'fans of snyder' only in terms of feeling they could use it to give HBOMax a boost this is, after all, the corporate culture that decided "STREAMING IS THE WAY!!!" and decided to announce dumping a bunch of their biggest movies of 2020/2021 onto their new streaming platform without consulting most of the filmmakers and stars at all Thanks given by: pipefan413

Well the way I see it the reason doesn't really matter. Even if they do it only for hard cash, that would still be possibly good news.

I think it would matter.
WB got in this situation to begin with because they were only in it for the hard cash... as opposed to being supportive of Snyder's approach/style. It would just happen again in different clothing.

yeah, but we're not BACK IN THOSE DAYS
we're in a time where the movie isn't just the movie. it's just one part of a huge synergistic business plan to big up one studio head's track record before they're eventually replaced the industry still makes cool stuff if you know where to look hollywood has always cared about politics and catering to appealing to the biggest audience's tastes and political inclinations. the industry only ever cares about it to the point of making sure the profit comes in the only difference today is that we're much more exposed to how blatant they are about it anyway, I have no problem with Snyder getting to continue his approach to DC movies. I don't think it'll happen, but I've been wrong before (I thought cameron's avatar was gonna flop! hhahaha!). I'm looking forward to him branching out with projects like his netflix zombie movie

So there's that. I'd actually be really interested to see what Snyder does with something that isn't a big daft action blockbuster. There'd probably be like a 60% greater chance of me enjoying it purely by merit of it being out of his comfort zone, which is where I often feel people make their most creatively exciting work. |
