I know you and some people prefeer the black corners haha. But fear not! I am going to keep the final alignment statfiles backed up so if there's enough demand or if anyone else wants to do it I will gladly provide these along with my script and exact sources used so all they would have to do is run the script and wait for the frames to export and then compile it back into video with ambilight turned off. Since the script will use these statfiles all the frames will be exported already aligned from my session so there wouldn't be even a need to worry for checking the movie for misalignments. Wow, it's really amazing the abilities now (with the necessary great operator skills behind using the software such as here ) to align, color-br-cont-match different sources. Even in that bright shot (with the matching houses and cars), not even a tiny seam to be seen, the corners are the only clue.
Incredible! Thanks given by: Klexos

Been following this project since its inception and it's great to hear and see the progress you've made!
Did you manage to figure out how to handle the audio, in the end?

Not making any promises but so far the tests on a few scenes I did with the HDR grading worked out. I just watched them all again from E! HD channel; seemed open-matte (hope wasn't crop+zoom!)..been wanting the new 4k set, but money's tight. I love the movies (almost as much as LOTR, lol) & have been following this project w/ great interest! I've experimented a little w/ hybrid open-matte+bluray sources (BR.. Random.Next was far ahead of me and way better at it of course, lol!), I do casual Premiere + VDub video editing/cleanup (Neat Video), laserdisc capture, and can do *some audio editing. I'd love to be a contributor/helper/tester, anything I can do to stay attached and close (like Ron or Hermione, not like a Dementor!) Thanks given by: SHM

All the theatricals will have the 7.1 audio from the UHD BD. I think I might be able to port over and keep the 7.1 audio for the extended versions as well. So keep in mind PoA doesn't have an OM version so that was definitely pan&scan. However do you recall if the first 2 movies were the extended versions? The reason I ask is because they are the only ones that have open matted extended scenes. And a problem I am facing is that the freeform copies I have have the logo on the bottom right which the WS BD still doesn't cover when overlaying it. So I either need another TV tape from another channel with the logo in another corner to cover it up or I will need to leave these extended scenes with the freeform logo in there which is very unfortunate. Thanks for the Update!
I hope that you can fix that watermark issue.

Unless an alternate Open Matte extended version miraculously pops up in the following week with the logo in another place I'm afraid there is nothing I can do and will have to compile it the way it is.. might try to mask it through inpaint or something but that won't be pretty either Thanks given by: SHM
