The Name of the Rose 1986 is showing in 4k and I would love to see if it looks better than the mediocre blu-ray:

WOWOW is not actually a single channel, there's three (or four including 4K). WOWOW Prime, WOWOW Live, WOWOW Cinema, WOWOW 4K.
The three first are 1080p only, the 4K is 2160p only. It requires a separate subscription, as well as a separate receiver to cap. It uses a different encryption which isn't publicly cracked, so there's not many people who can do it :/

Looks like the movie you linked is only airing on the 4K one. If you spot it airing on the 1080p ones, post here, if I see it I'll try to get it in case maksnew isn't available.

I do not have the opportunity to write from a 4K channel, but in the new year and holidays there will be quite a few interesting screenings of old films, I will try to record them and, if the result is successful, I will inform you in the topic.

There's actually a French bluray of this movie, which is remastered. It looks much better than the US bluray.

Perhaps someone will be able to capture a better HDTV Open Matte even without logos, but in general it's not bad, the losses are not great.

Bravia Core will not be cracked anytime soon so, maybe some good hdtv copies can be used to make a hybrid.

Well, thats a much better looking version.
That can be used as a source to mask the logo of the LQ HBO copy that its online.

@maksnew, please consider using a different image hosting. This one doesn't let you get to the full size without clicking through two pages full of ads.
