Mixed the Blu Ray last year with the audio from the chaps above, needless to say its still my go to for Die Hard.
LD tracks for the win, I thank you gents again for the opportunity to hear them again from my youth in Laserdisc.

If I may ask, how did you even get it off Netflix? Do they allow you to download it or something?

Right I've just watched it (Christmas tradition) and it looks and sounds great. I added a lick of grain to marry with the existing grain that survived Netflix's brutal compression and it really does help with blocking artifacts. Thanks again to DoomBot for hooking me up with the laserdisc mixes (courtesy of DoomBot and PDB). It's not perfect... there was one small section (seconds) where the streaming resolution of the cap bumped down a notch and the compression gets worse which I am ashamed to say I missed. I'm still happy to upload it for those who are interested, most likely via mega. In the new year when everything settles down I'll set up another capture and I will replace the affected section.
To answer FrankT's question I have a cable TV box which has the Netflix app and a remarkable feature of outputting in 24p, coupled with an external capture device which can hardware encode h264 at a high enough bitrate as to be effectively lossless (especially with a lossy source like Netflix) which is then captured to a PC hdd. If anyone is aware of any films on Netflix uk which warrant a preservation (unique masters, not available on blu etc.) gimme a holler.

Very excited to see this - I watch this every Christmas and each time the BD transfer seems more mediocre. Thanks for putting the work in.

Well done zoidberg... I think we have a potential new project maker, don't you all think?
