What I would like to see is the alternative opening for DH Part 1. The one from Freeform.
Is there anyway to see it? I don't live in the USA, and even if I did, they aren't in Freeform anymore, right?

I know, but I mean is just that I wanna see how they edit it. It seems hard to do it since the original opening was a montague. I wanted to post an update about my Freeform captures. For HP1 I captured directly from the cable box, however the rest I captured from a Laptop via the cloud DVR. However, I have noticed that this changed the colors (Rec709 to full RGB) and also revealed some video compression in dark scenes. So I plan to recapture 2-7 directly from the cable box. I could attempt to simply apply to a RGB > Studio filter to the video, but I am afraid there is more compression on the cloud DVR rather than direct from the cable box.
I just did a test cap the intro of Deathly Hallows Pt1, which has some very dark scenes, and it is much better direct from DVR. HP1 looks good though and I can upload that for anyone who is interested. I do have 2 separate recordings of each movie, which may help in removing some watermarks. Thanks given by:

I found this forum with my friend after we were trying to get my recordings off my dvr. Really we just want the entire freeform broadcast, commercials and all. I can give you my email in a PM!

USA and SyFy channel now have the rights to the Harry Potter films instead of HBO. They just did a Harry Potter weekend airing all 8 films.
It appeared that some were extended editions and some where not, also some were shown open matte and some were shown in the original aspect ratio. At a glance it seemed HP1 and HP2 were open matte, but not sure about extended. HP3 and HP4 were widescreen. HP5 was open matte or cropped. HP4 was extended edition with some deleted scenes for sure, but HP3 did not appear to be extended. Seems all over the place, however the network logo was on the lower left hand corner, opposite of Freeform broadcasts, so they could be useful for removing watermarks on extended or open matte scenes potentially. |
