The French PCM track taken from laserdisc uses the same mix found in the Sony unreleased BD, but the latter is AC-3 5.1 640kbps, so I don't see the point to preserve the former as is, also because it was converted from 44.1kHz/1.441mbps to 48kHz/1.536mbp, hence a bit of quality was already loss, and it is conformed to DC.
I guess the AC-3 is the best choice, using the older mix, but with discrete multichannel encoding.
About English track: I'm curious to know if the latter DTS-HD MA found in the DC blu-ray is different from the TC PCM 5.1.

Re french track are the problems on the other Robocop releases not present on the sony disc? That would be incredible.
Chapter 7 (vers 23: 57) - Murphy's wife said, "I have something to say to you that is very important." We will never know, because the whole sentence goes by the wayside.
Chapter 7 (verse 24 '56) - It will not be known what time Murphy died. The nurse's voice - which says "6:15 pm" - was zapped.
Chapter 12 (verse 39 '20) - The line "Hécatombe. Kill before being killed. An educational game signed Butler ", becomes" ... .educat .... "
Chapter 15 (verse 45 '36) - Robo is supposed to say to Lewis, "Excuse me, crime is getting ready in town." Except that we do not hear anything anymore...
Chapter 21 (around 64 '08) - During the confrontation between Boddicker and Robo, the latter says "yes, I am a robot policeman". Missed! What we hear is "yes, I am a ...policiot".
Chapter 28 (verse 83 '08) - Robo is not heard saying "thank you" to Lewis.
Also Murphy's son does not say, "Dad, do you know how to do that? »; The journalists at the town hall always speak in English instead of french.
the reason I think is that they may have misplaced the dub master and used an unfinished master on purpose, or by mistake. That renders any release of this version useless because it's not the original french mix.

I've checked, and you are right! I wonder why new track, which clearly uses the same mix of the old LD one, has missing lines!!!
Well, it seems I should include it! Still, plain PCM is a bit too big; I think that AC-3 384kbps will be audibly transparent!
Or, as they use the same mix, the best thing would be to "patch" the 5.1 missing/wrong parts with the laserdisc.

Damn that's too bad it would have been awesome if the sony french audio was uncut! Problem is how do I alternate between a 5.1 and a 2.0 track? I would need to extract the center channel from the 2.0 I guess. If anyone here can process the french LD track and get me separate channels, then I can fix those and reencode. Or better just replace the center channel if it works.

Well, as it seems the missing/wrong part are not so extensive, I guess a simple freesurround/Dolby Prologic decoding should do - even if a proper hardware decoding should sound better.
Now, if you can "live" with the Dolby Prologic decoded track, give me just few minutes...

I kept looking around and it looks that they fixed the audio problems on the 4K remaster except the "je suis un policio" part. Could we use this or is it a remix? I would need to check. I think I only have the previous disc trilogy not the 4K.
EDIT their fixed version still have problems so no bother.

Our friend with the hardware Dolby Surround decoder may be ready to decode the French PCM track, if the Dolby Prologic software decoding won't be great; but I guess the latter should do.
Stamper, if I'll send you the decoded file, how much time will you need to make the edits? As tomorrow video will be ready, it will take a day or two to edit the other languages, so it will be great to have it ASAP!

It depends.
If I have to swaps the parts having problems, it might be long because I would have to compare the tracks for the whole movie.
I hope I can just swap the center, cut out the SE parts and resend it to you in 640kbps. Then all you will need to do is remux the audio channels. We'll see.

In case it would help, I can offer to decode the LD track with my Dolby SDU4 hardware decoder. Would result in 4 channels: L C R S (left center right surround). 5.1 can also be mixed out of that.
