Gladiator: Blu-ray / Ripbot264 UHD conversion to BT.709 (video,hue=2,sat=1.05,bright=0,cont=0.9)
As it turns out, the UHD looks cleaner, not as grainy (although I made this test on the fastest settings), is framed to 2.39:1 instead of the Blu-ray 2.35:1, and is also framed differently horizontally. And finally, the end credits on the UHD are yellow, while they are white on the Blu-ray. I don't think they're supposed to be yellow...
Does anyone know how to make a remux out of a seamless branched UHD disc? 'Cause even if RipBot264 managed to detect 2 runtimes for me to select one to encode, the audio goes gradually out of sync on the final output product. I've just updated my eac3to to version 3.34, and my BDInfo to version 0.7.5.0 to identify the playlists, I'll see if that works.

Yep, the best way is to use eac3to but you need to know the correct playlist first.

Yes, even with eac3to, I've had audio (sync) problems with seamless-branching UHD BDs. When that happens, it's always worth trying MKVMerge or MakeMKV, especially the latter.

Beber, would be interested in your thoughts on color tweaks to the following if you've got around to it. Picked up some settings for some of them from a well known German forum but not entirely convinced with the results:
Patriot Games (present settings I have make it look to dark) thinking of going with, cont 0.98 sat 1.05
Clear and Present Danger (present settings I have make the colours look to bland in certain scenes) thinking of going with, cont 0.98 sat 1.05.
Christine, thinking of going with, cont 0.95 sat 1.03.
The Deer Hunter (settings I have found I'm happy with, over dark scenes of UHD have been reasonably fixed but would still like to know your thoughts).
Thanking you in advance

I don't have any of those yet, and I'm in the process of reacquiring some stuff that I just lost in a hard drive crash that I had to reformat.
However, I'm wondering if the same tweaking can be applied to any movie from the same studio, 'cause the Warner Dark Knight trilogy works well with the same tweakings, as Harry Potter 1 and 2 (those last 2 I made too bright and probably a bit too contrasty by keeping the default, so applying the same as Dark Knight should be okay). Both Predator and Predator 2, from Fox, turned out fine on the Default setting.
So, for the Jack Ryan saga, I'd try the tweakings I came up with for Red October.
I think Christine is from Sony, so I'd try the tweaking I came up with for MIB 2 and/or Groundhog Day, although hue was involved there.
And Deer Hunter, from Studio Canal if I'm not mistaken, I'd try what I came up with for T2.

Just startet to try ripbot.
I got PRoblems with "Solo", failing at the beginning of the demuxing. Maybe because of the seamless branching.
But my very first try on the Italian Dawn of the Dead release went working, but I deleted the result, because the BD is near to the UHD BD, so it was more a test, if my PC is able to run ripbot converting a UHD BD to HD...
Now I just need to catch some nice UHD BDs. (Preordered "The Evil Dead", "The Evil Dead 2" and "Escape from New York". )

Predator I went with Cont 0.9 Sat 1.05, default contrast left a couple of scenes with slightly blown highlights and saturation with 1.05 really brought out the jungle colours. Deer Hunter would be a little to dark for my liking with the T2 settings (went with the German forums settings on that one of Cont 1.29 Bright -3 Sat 1.05). I,ll try your Red October settings with both Patriot Games (which is a little dark on default) and Clear and Present (although quite happy with Cont 0.98 on that one). MI I settled on Cont 0.8 and Sat 0.9.

If Patriot Games is too dark on Default, then my Red October settings won't please you, as I haven't touched the brightness. I have, however, increased contrast. Maybe that will do, since it helped to have whiter whites on the opening text.
I'll have to revisit my Predator, then. I went with sat 1.1, as the default 1.0 wasn't as colorfull as I wanted, and left the rest untouched. I might need to reduce contrast a bit, then. It's very possible. Same thing happened with Harry Potter 1: although the Default looked fine, the default contrast is probably too high compared to the 4K DCP I saw the other day.
