Any problems in the blown out whites ect may be salvageable in a fan made UHD to BD project, as most of the problems Ive seen in screenshots look like choices in the conversion to SDR (Excluding the color grade).

Hopefully, the UHD BD is vastly superior but in the meantime I'm still going to finish this up for a small release.

For anyone still interested in this...I captured the stream 2 more times to make sure I had the best "streamed" parts for the whole film. Any improvement is very minor as it's still a stream but I'm trying to get the best pic possible. I did notice one way this master is a much better master then the 2008 BD. Apparently, Fox's dirt and scratch removal software was a little to aggressive in 2008 with the lightning at the end before the explosion. It removed or muted a lot of the optical effects. Some examples:

Cool comparison. Yeah, those DNR artifacts aren't new to me, have seen something similar in the comparisons of the Mummy & Mummy 2 BD vs. HD-DVD (the latter being less DNRed)

After a few fits and starts with this project. I think I have fixed all the issues and I believe this is ready to go. Or as ready as it will ever be.

In the end, it is synced to the 2008 BD so you can pull in any soundtrack and subs from that to work here.

The Itunes was missing 1 frame that the 2008 had. I capped the same spot about 5 times to confirm and the one frame is just not there. So I dupped it with the preceding frame.
