No problemo! All good for now, but I'll let you know if I need anything I also sent over the German Mediabook track to Evit to check out.

It's captured, the raw files are uploading as we speak. I ran a comparison to see how it stacks up to the "original audio" on the SecondSight and German Mediabook releases, and the results are pretty interesting. I think it's safe enough to say that their track is not from the US laserdisc.

One of the things that jumped out at me looking at the spectral comparison is the scene at 14 minutes. It turns out that's the scene in the car with the Damned song that gets cut out of every release. On the BD releases its cutoff around 12kHz while the LD is all the way up there. I dumped it out in a FLAC comparison, first is Second Sight BD, then the LD. I'm wondering if it was patched in from another source for the BD version? Regardless, the LD blows it away

That's super great news! Very interesting comparison too and the details about The Damned song scene. Sounds like even the original audio on the Second Sight release was half-assed. Thank you for all this. Now we can have a proper version of the film as originally shown in theaters.

I was hoping I wasn't crazy for dishing out for the LD and it would be the exact same thing, so I think the gamble paid off this time. I'm actually wondering if they spliced in VHS audio for a few parts like that, as I noticed Shouts VHS audio on ROTLD2 also caps out around 12-14 kHz. Hmm..

That is odd. They must have spliced in a few parts with VHS if not LD. But yes I agree it was worth the gamble and now we have the legit original audio preserved. Are you planning on ripping Part 2's audio from LD at some point?

It's already ripped, I started working on the sync last week
