Hi,
I need to convert and encode a larger MOV project file to a reasonable (say, BD-25-compliant) size. Are there any programs that you'd recommend that can do this without quality loss*? Thanks!

What codec is it? If it's lossless uncompressed video, you could use a lossless codec like Lagarith to bring it down more.
More likely it's something like ProRes or h264, both lossy codecs, which you won't be able to bring further down without some amount of quality loss. The goal then would be simply to encode them in such a way to have as little quality loss as possible, for example using x264. Thanks given by: Serums

Well, I'd initially been working with DNxHD, so thought to export the project in the same codec and go from there. I'm using Davinci Resolve, if that's any indication for you. |
