So update. This has been done for over a month and about a half dozen people were nice enough to test it out for me. Pretty much everyone found it good but one person was nice enough to point out 3 or 4 shots with banding. It appears the banding is baked into both HDTVs and even a little bit in the BD. 8-bit what can you say? So I'm running some de-banding and dithering on it but I don't expect it to be perfect but hopefully better. When that is done, I'll release this to participating forum members. And regarding the dithering and de-banding of those shots, like you've said it need not to be perfect & give your best on it to make it better (will it help by adding a little bit of noise ?). Thanks to the person who have pointed it out. Really excited & looking forward to the final result. And just like nafroe has said, really appreciate all of you for making this project a reality !

Honestly, after watching this projected I didn't notice the banding at all, but I absolutely appreciate your dedication to doing the best quality work possible. Thank you (as always) for all of your hard work!

Wow, watching it on IMAX must be mindblowing. In my opinion, this is the best Bond film ever made.

I'm not even that huge a fan of the film, but living in Scotland and having been to where much of it is shot added a lot to the experience of seeing the IMAX presentation in the cinema. The framing is much better for a lot of the shots, considering the setting! (2020-07-15, 12:19 AM)pipefan413 Wrote:(2020-07-14, 08:41 PM)myllaki Wrote: Wow, watching it on IMAX must be mindblowing. I'm not into Bond films, because most of them seem to me a bit like over the top (I watched them on TV when I was a child, specially the Brosnan ones). Then, I watched Casino Royale and, although it's much better, still didn't clicked on me. Finally, I could watch Skyfall and omfg... What an AWESOME movie is. Here, James Bond IS a person, he's vulnerable, he has flaws, he has feelings... The best 007 film and one the best action films period. |
