IMAX cameras make a lot of noise and are not suitable for dialog photography.
This is why most films only use IMAX cameras in action scenes.

Correct, but it could be done if you accepted the necessity of shooting like the old days where no audio was recorded on set and everything was dubbed in later. This has already been done recently in BAIT for artsy-fartsy reasons (that film was shot with an old camera from the era in which sound wasn't recorded at the same time as picture).

It is however incredibly expensive not just to get the cameras but also to get the 65 mm IMAX film. So it's a bit of both.

Well, technology develops, right? Since IMAX has been around for ages i think if they really wanted it they could definitly come up with ideas to make noiseless IMAX cameras. I don't konw nothing about the technicality but it is 2020 and we are surrounded by high-tech products, so i dare say this is not a problem that can't be solved, especially in the present.

It's certainly a possible that IMAX could start looking into that, but seeing as how they've decided to go in on developing digital cameras instead (such as the 4K 3D digital camera they developed for Transformers 4)?

I kinda doubt it.

I hope I'm wrong though!

I went to see that movie in a 3D IMAX theater with my parents because of what they were saying about it and there was almost no one else in the theater lol.

First post, btw.

She is always wrong and a white supremist
Who cares....

Now they say it's $50mln+ will be given to Zack to film his original script, which is awesome.
