Zack Snyder's Justice League

Quote:Is this in support of the idea that WB conspired to moderately sabotage some 3rd party streaming viewership numbers of SNYDERCUT to get out of the SNYDERVERSE business?

In the context of the craven human pettiness of corporate infighting and regime changes, it's not COMPLETELY out of the question.  But it just doesn't pass my personal smell test yet.

True support, no. I don't care enough to get into Internet fights over something that only a few people know and they will not tell unless blackmail or revenge kicks in and a tell all book is released. To be honest, I can only testify to what I saw at the corporation I worked at. At one time, I was caught in the middle of a department vs department fight and with me being the low man on the totem pole, I almost lost my job when our department lost (I did get a reprimand. So yes I believe that it probably is happening and did happen, but no, I don't care enough to pick a hill and die on.

Quote:And this is despite the fact that I have no problem believing modern Hollywood would amplify such regular instances of human greed and ego-stroking.   This is, after all, a world in which a mega-success like the LOTR trilogy apparently made no profit to the point that Jackson had to sue New Line to get paid what he was due.

In 1984, Columbia released Ghostbusters to a block busting success. Do you remember Columbia's legal fight with Filmation? Columbia licensed the name Ghostbusters from Filmation for around $300k-$500k or so and a small percentage of the "NET" profits. Columbia claimed that the film didn't make a penny and released documents to the court to support it. If you get a chance, search for the paperwork and it will blow your mind on what Columbia did to make it look like their movie didn't make any money. Hollywood accounting at it's finest.

Quote:But some subtle-to-moderate massaging of some viewership numbers feels so insignificant in the context of AT&T going:

Quote:"OOOOOH!!!  WE'RE GOING TO DUMP OUR 2021 SLATE ONTO OUR NEW STREAMING PLATFORM WITHOUT AN UPCHARGE!!!

OOOOH, WE'LL HASH THE DETAILS OUT WITH THE VARIOUS FINANCIAL STAKEHOLDERS OF EACH PRODUCTION LATER!  WE'RE SURE THEY'LL BE TOTALLY COOL WITH IT.

OOOOOOH, CHRISTOPHER NOLAN IS GIVING US THE STINK EYE!!!"

Lol, and when this happened, I was like yep, this will start some arguments. Then Legacy through a fit, until they came to some "undisclosed" settlement. So yea, at the end of the day, mainstream Hollywood reminds me of organized crime families. Billions of dollars are at risk and some shady crap goes on.

Blessings.

Warning time.

This thread is beginning to get borderline as the discussion is moving from the film to other member's feelings of the film and other unrelated topics. This thread has been given a wide berth but if people don’t keep it clean, I will lock the thread.

It's sad really. I read more about the conspiracies and snydercult more than I do the actual film.

Anyway, got my BvS 4K remaster and ZSJL 4K on pre-order and will be watching these and MoS back to back

I hope we'll get a remaster of MoS, I think Zack mentioned he considers to revise it.

Does anyone know where I can get the “Hallelujah” trailer in the highest possible quality?

The original HBO max version looked DNRed to hell. I don’t know if that is the source or YouTube’s filter. However even if that is best quality version, the HBO Max channel itself has removed this particular trailer (music rights?). It can be found on other channels but I wonder if they are further compressed.

I'm looking too. No luck so far. I tried asking someone to look on the HBO Max website too, they seem to have them in good quality, however this particular one doesn't appear to be there from what he said (tho it's possible he just didn't find it), which is more than a little disappointing. Like you I'm very unhappy with the Youtube quality.

There's also the version posted on VERO but it's worse if anything.

Well I searched "Justice League Synder Hallejuah 4k" and this came up:

Code:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iwJ4-BM9Q4

But it looks sharpened to me. Could simply be that and upscaled. And not to mention there is an added watermark in the bottom left! It still has the same macro blocking problems found in the original (like the Superman scream bit at the beginning). I can't remember if the HBO Max channel offered it in 4K originally. I'm a bit annoyed at myself for not grabbing it, but you don't really expect these things to disappear right?

I'm now thinking this trailer could actually be recreated from movie itself. You'd have the grain and everything would be much better quality. Pity my machine is not up to video editing tasks otherwise I would definitely have a go myself!

It was on reddit, around 1gb I think, I don't know if it's still available.

I went through my archive and noticed that I downloaded a few different versions of this trailer. Filesize-wise the biggest one is the one posted by Zack himself on VERO. But it's only 720p. Then there was one on Youtube in 1080p, but it doesn't really look like very sharp overall either. I have that one in VP9. That one also has the logo on there, unlike the VERO version. Then there's the original one that was on Youtube, also 1080p, same issues really, I have that one in H264. The first was called Official Teaser, the second was called Official Teaser Update. Between the two there was the music rights issue apparently. But both are offline now.

The stuff on HBOMax's website seems to be in 1080p and in much better quality than Youtube, but they don't (anymore?) have the Hallelujah Teaser on there. Perhaps for the same reason it's not on Youtube anymore. That would have been the biggest hope for decent quality really. I have another trailer from there and it looks very good.

The 4K upscale on reddit is done from the 1080p source on HBOMax, but I don't know which teaser that is, as the link is offline and none of the people in the thread responded to a PM I sent them.

Sad affairs. Maybe the only option in the end will be to reconstruct it.
