I am trying to do a hybrid version of the new DE and the SLV. I Bought the latest boxed set but sadly the SLV is 4k seamless branching from the TC and I have neither a 4k player nor a 4k TV.
I was hoping to view it at some point to see the completed matte on the airlock scene and whether they colour corrected anything or tweaked the soundtrack get it to match the preceding TC scenes. Has anyone had the chance to view it yet to see how it compares?
In particular, I struggled to get Decker's god in our own image scene to look right next to DE footage either side and might be better taking a bigger chunk of the SLV instead.

Cool! How does it compare? That image looks really crisp! I guess the grain matches the 4k TC since it is seamless branching?
Is it available for download? Although I would have to downscale to HD to watch on my TV, I'm sure it must be far better than the SD outtakes I have to view at the moment.
The documenatary on the bonus disc includes some HD footage from the memory wall too. My one regret is that they didn't give us all the memory wall footage in HD.

Has anyone had the chance to check out the new 4k version of the SLV with completed airlock scene? I have it plus the other versions but I only have a Bluray player and HDTV. I have watched the other movies on bluray but this was an unexpected release only available in 4k so I have not been able to to watch it at all yet. It's basically 4k Theatrical Edition with seamless branching but I would love to see how it compares.
My ambition has long been to do a hybrid cut of the DE with the key SLV outtakes added back in but my current version has had to use scaled up SD scenes that turn a bit blocky when I try to match colour or brightness and it is so frustrating to know there is a better version available that I just can't access. :-/
Edit: I think I will try totalling up by Amazon voucher and buying a HD external player! Any recommendations?

I think it should be. I was reluctant to spend so much just for one movie just in case it was no good but I think I will try! Thanks!
