I'm afraid they took a low budget 80s film and intentionally upped the camp factor, which was probably not the original intention. Fake camp kind of sucks.

Based on the trailer, I didn't think it was deliberate comedy on the level of "What's Up Tiger Lily?" or "J-Men Forever". And surely they could have someone lip read the dialog so long as the actor's faces are visible? There's a documentary built around silent home movies taken of Adolph Hitler and his henchmen that did exactly that.

They stated on social media that they made sure not to make it more camp than needed, even with the soundtrack. I think the guys at Vinegar Syndrome know what they are doing. They have the highest respect for this type of material. If anyone can do it right it's them.

Makes me think ... since this obviously will not get a proper photochemical color timing now... sounds like we have work to do!

Guess to a certain degree the world has proven you wrong.

Probably just a standard digital master to print sort of scenario with no real alterations in color timing between stages, but the movie exists on print now I guess which is fascinating to see.
