BTW, was the 4k released canceled? I've found a webdl from april, but don't know where it came from...

Disney & Regency have just agreed a new deal but not sure if it includes catalogue or just new releases.

I'm gonna give a try to the 4k webdl i've found, but don't know what source or master it is.

Unfortunately Michael Mann being involved in the remaster is a very bad thing. Not only has he cut out two shots and a few lines of dialogue he drenches the whole thing in teal. In addition to that the 4K webrip is also zoomed in on all four sides, so I'm not that optimistic that a 4k disc release will be any good to be honest...

So I've pretty much finished the initial color grading, I've watched it through once and made some adjustments, currently rendering out V2. I'm now looking to see if any volunteers are happy to assist with testing? You don't have to have experience with color grading just looking for anything that looks wrong or out of place. Drop me a PM if you are interested - newbies this is a great way to contribute! I'm also still looking for Spanish audio from any DVD release. Thanks.

Mann is the worst, he is worse than Lucas and Cameron combined.
I had the R0 DTS disc, maybe been a bootleg but the audio was amazing, even with the cropped 1.85:1 image

I'd love to check it out and give feedback. Do we know if any of the available 5.1 audio mixes are theatrical? My thinking was that the LD AC3 might be as legend has it that LD 5.1 tracks were just straight ports of the theatrical mixes.
