Thank a lot stwd4nder2!

The audio on the DVD blew me away when it came out. Looking forward to your Cinema DTS Sync!

Movie: Tenet (2020)
Format: Datasat
Input: 44.1 khz 24 fps AUD
Output: 44.1khz 23.976 fps FLAC
Ripped/Synced by: stwd4nder2
Synced To: UHD

Special thanks to Turisu for sending over the raw files.

Like other Nolan UHD's, the Datasat track is pretty much the same as what's on the BD (including all the clipping, settling on old argument on the bd forums). The surrounds on the UHD are a little louder after lowering the cinema track 3db, but that's the only notable difference.

Cool. Couple of questions?

Did the disc or files have a revision number on them?

Does the boating scene sound any better or worse?

I don't have the physical discs, just ISOs. Don't see anything about a revision number, just the serial # of 14210.

And are you referring to the scene at ~56 min? It sounds the same and the waveforms are almost an exact match.

I don't have the files in front of me to check but is there an R13 file or any other odd Rxx files? These are sometimes alternate reels that contain later revisions of the mix.

If the waveforms are the same I assume it was the last revision. Thanks for the info.

I heard tell there were 2 or 3 revisions to the DTS discs for Tenet. Seems to be conflicting info on that. Whatever the last one was specifically targeted the boating scene, which is still hard to hear in the final version and even on the BD/UHD.

I love Nolan but come on, just ADR the audio. Actors should be professionals, they can give a good performance in a recording booth.

Like Turisu said getting "new" DTS discs when a movie was still in the theater was not unheard of. I've also seen DTS discs with revisions of specific reels or even alternative reels for foreign releases.

Yes. Avengers has an alternate final reel file added to the disc when the post-credits 'shwarma' scene was added. HP1 has the UK 'Philosopher's Stone' version on the disc as alternate reels. Some alternates are just for international distributor logos and some contain weird revisions like seemingly randomly emphasised SFX.

Great one! Thanks a lot stwd4nder2!

It really deserved an UHD, but given the state that's FOX under Disney, chances are slim to none.

I just can't believe Disney sitting on so many Touchstone/Hollywwod Pictures action gems form the 90ies (specially Bruckheimer's films) and now some great Fox Films too. Please, license them to Arrow if they don't want o release under their own label.
