Proposal: The James Cameron Project
This looks awesome, I barely noticed the filled corner.
You should make an alternate 2.20:1 version which stops right at the corners.
The best of both worlds!

It looks like some parts are sourced from the full screen russian DVD, but that is normal as this is a composite of several sources.

Regular participants can PM me for a link to the film.
Below I have attached an archive with comparisons of all sources that were used simultaneously

May I ask what specific programs are doing the video generation for the missing information? And roughly, how long that takes per scene? Its something I'm looking into, but, if its going to be days of rendering for a 1 minute shot., my equipment may be too slow and underpowered to take on this new tech just quite yet

1. Hybrid made using AviSynth AutoOverlay plugin.
2. Sources: remastered FHD and UHD Blu-ray, new Lionsgate transfer, FS DVD Twister, FS VideoCD and FS LaserDisc Special Edition.
3. Basis - remastered edition.
4. The video is centered relative to the intersection of the remaster and the DVD.
5. Color adjusted by 25% towards Lionsgate transfer.
6. Automatic multi-stage spatial-temporal color correction in HDR was carried out to match the sources to each other.
7. DVD and VideoCD are pre-processed by Topaz Video AI.
8. LaserDisc is used to patch damaged areas of VideoCD.
9. The DVD is additionally cleaned of stains.
10. Empty areas in the corners are filled with the ProPainter neural network.
11. The video is stabilized based on the remastered edition.

In total, the rendering took two weeks at night, on a PC with good performance.

Sounds very nice! Thanks for the detailed step-by-step, much appreciated. I'm very interested in that Propainter neural network software

So refresh my memory, which is better? The T2 1080p BD remaster or the T2 2160p UHDBD remaster?

I vaguely remember a discussion that some said the details or encode was better on the 1080p BD? I could be wrong about that.

So T1 has an atmos remix then?

I thought the Atmos was mentioned in the Park Circus press release. I wonder if the dynamic range will be completely flattened
