The French Line (1954)
#1
I watched (most of) The French Line for the first time yesterday, read about the censorship and noticed the extremely poor quality of the print and official releases.

Digging around, I think I can do a reconstruction of the uncensored version... has anyone ever done this or seen it anywhere? I hate to go to the effort only to find it posted already.

It screened at the World 3D Expos. Uncensored, but both eyes weren't complete.

Did you ever manage to get a restored/uncensored version of the movie operational?

Nope. I can't even remember how I was going to do it. Additionally, I've upgraded my web-dl'ing skill and I want to recapture this once TCM broadcasts it again.
Edit: I think I was going to use the TCM web-dl as the base, removing 1 in 5 frames to get it to 23.976, and then filling in the missing bits from the rutracker's 3D version which is an odd 3D DVD with the interlacing creating the left and right eyes.
Besides trying to get the two source to be fairly similar, it's a lot of work for a not very good movie.

Gotcha, well if you ever do manage to do it, I'd love to see the finished project. Take care!
